Dinah/You: Puppy (personal request)

"Mommy! Mommy!" my 3 year old son, Aiden, whined, shaking Dinah's arm.

"Yes, Love?" She answered looking up from her book.

"Can we have a puppy?" he asked, looking at Dinah with his big brown eyes.

"Sweetheart-"

"Pweaseeee mommy?" He begged, his eyes starting to water a little bit.

"Don't cry, baby. I'll talk to Momma about it." She said, picking the little boy up and stroking his brown hair.

I walked around the corner like I hadn't been eavesdropping on the conversation, "Hey, babe. I've been thinking, and I think we should get a puppy." I smiled widely at her.

"What a coincidence," She said smirking, "our handsome son here, just asked for the saaaame exact thing. You wouldn't happen to know anything about his sudden interest in a puppy,now, would you?"

I shook my head innocently.

"Paige Hansen." She said,sternly.

"Okay," I admitted, putting my hands up, " I may have bribed him into asking you, but I knew I had to bring out the big guns on this one!"

"You're right," she replied laughing,"I would've said no, but those dang eyes get me every time! He's a mini you! How could I say no to him?" She asked, pouting.

I giggled and kissed her cheek. "We'll go look for a puppy tomorrow, My love, but it's time to go night-night," I cooed, taking Aiden into my arms. "Come on, Mommy. Let's go tuck Aiden in. ALL ABOARD THE SLEEP TRAIN CHOO CHOO!" I said loudly.

Aiden giggled and I smiled at the sound. Dinah got up and wrapped her arms around my waist. "You're so corny," she whispered into my ear.

"Whatever, Dinah! Let's get the little one to sleep."

We walked to Aiden's room making train noises, our hearts fluttering at the sound of his giggles.

A few minute later, I watched as my son slept peacefully. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and I relaxed into them.

"I can't get over how much he looks like you. He's beautiful, just like his mommy." Dinah said snuggling into my neck.

I smiled and then sighed, "I love you, Dinah."

"I love you too, Paige." She said, kissing me softly on the lips.
