BUCHAREST present day
James dug through a crate of plumbs trying to find the best one,
"Cât costă?"(how much?) he asked picking up two,
"50 centi" the other man spoke. Bucky reached into his pocket and paid for his plumbs. leaving to head home. Walking past a busy street, James looked around at all the people rushing past, or shopping around.
Even though he had been living in Romania for a while, getting used to it all was still a little difficult. taking a deep breath, Bucky looked over at a man, who was staring at him and then glancing back and forth between him and the newspaper he was holding. as he walked closer, the man fled, and James grew concerned. when he reached where the other man once was, he looked at the newspaper to find an image of a man who looked just like him and the title saying winter solider sets off a bomb in Vienna across the top.
BACK IN VIENNA,
Once Seph reached Steve, he was already holding out his arms to hug her, he hated seeing her sad. and he knew leaving Natasha, and joining him would cause a lot more problems than solve. but she didn't agree with the accords.
"Are you alright?" He asked looking down at her, she nodded into his shirt, and he pulled away, "Come on, Sam is waiting for us." He said she followed after him and into a bakery a few blocks away. once inside, Steve led Seph to the counter where she found Sam leaning against the counter eating a pastry.
"She tell you to stay out of it?" He asked Steve, but he remained silent. "Might have a point?" He said teasingly, continuing to eat his food.
"He'd do it for me," Steve said looking away.
"1945 maybe, I just wanna make sure we consider all our options," he said. Seph looked between the two and turned to face Steve.
"wait, and this is Bucky? we're talking about?" she asked.
"James Barnes," Sam answered for her, she turned over to face him and he smiled down at her.
"My best friend from before the Ice," Steve said explaining bucky's occupation in all of this, before Seph could respond, Sharon walked in and slid a file across the counter towards them. Listening to her speak, Seph casually stole a bite of Sam's food.
"My boss expects a briefing pretty much now, so that's all the head start your gonna get," she said glancing down at the file.
"Get your own damn food," Sam said quietly to Seph who only smirked at him in return.
"Thank you," Steve said still looking forward to really sell the whole undercover thing.
"hurry, our troops have orders to shoot onsight," Sharon said leaving soon after. Persephone stood straight and looked at Steve,
"Whatever you wanna do, I'm game, I just can't go back to my dad," she said
"Why?" Sam asked.
"Because he doesn't know..," she said whispering. "you know about the whole accords situation," she said holding her hands awkwardly
"Oh, well I'm sure he does now," Sam said.
"Sam," Steve said firmly, "It's fine Seph, I'll deal with your father, come on, we have to get to Bucky before the police do,"
BUCHAREST
Steve entered the small messy apartment alone, taking in his surroundings, the windows were covered in newspapers, and the bed was a small mattress on the floor. picking up a book on top of the fridge, he looked inside, to find pages of notes.
