As we have talked about before, some people have different ways of coping with their pain. Keeping it in, leaning on others, devoting their lives to a greater purpose. But some people don't deal with it in the right way.
Some go down the wrong path and eventually it leads them into the dark. Straight to the devil.
"I see you've returned my little spy" Lucifer's smile grew as Reid entered the dark basement where Jasper was still being held. She had a cunning smile on her face, not seeming even a little bothered by the fact that the devil stood in front of her, or that a man was being held in a cell only a few feet from them.
"Just wanted to give you a little warning my king" She made her way a little closer but was obviously hesitant about where she should stop "Avis is on her way to kill you, predictably she's asked me for help. A brilliant idea having me show up at her apartment" Lucifer smiled, loving the praise, but also that his plan was working.
"Well, I knew that if you were there, she would have no problem leaving her new teammates behind. After all who needs a Winchester when you have a sister who can control people and demons alike," Lucifer walked closer, gliding a finger across her cheek. Reid seemed validated by the movement and smiled, completely forgetting any worries or plans she might have had
"Wait your Ace's sister?" The rough voice of a newly bruised Jasper caught the attention of the two plotting villains. They both looked at him, but Lucifer rolled his eyes looking away seconds later
"Foster sister." Reid corrected this time and Jasper glared at her
"Why would you choose Satan over your sister?" Jasper spoke as if he was disgusted to even be in the same room as her
"Avis has only treated me like her sister when it suited her needs. One day we are inseparable and the next she's going off with her dad to Olympus and leaving me. Then, she doesn't talk to me for years! Only to come back and act as if we never had a relationship" Jasper shook his head; it didn't sound like the Avis he knew. She was the protector he and Alex didn't even know they needed at the worst time in their lives. Without her they would probably have been dead years ago "And I know what you're thinking, but she would never do that!" Reid spoke in a mocking tone that made Jasper's jaw clench "Well she did. And one day she's gonna do the same to you."
"Actually, she won't have the time" Lucifer added in, both jumped having forgotten he was there "Because Avis Ward won't be leaving this building alive again."

Avis looked around at her apartment with a solemn expression. There was no telling the next time she would be back in this place. It had been her first home that was her own. No connection to her father, no foster parents not to bother, just hers.
Things like that were rare in Avis' life. Things that were hers. Sounds a bit cliché but when it came to the things she owned or the people she associated herself with, cared about, the idea that her father could show up at any moment to take it away from her was terrifying.
He was an actual God. No matter how strong or how skilled she became there was no beating that. She just had to get used to never being free of him.
So, she had to settle for what she could change, and Lucifer's breathing was at the top of that list.
"Just in case..." Avis took out the drayon and began furiously writing a note she hoped she would never have to send

"Alright here's the plan" Avis stood next to Reid dressed in an outfit she hadn't worn in a long time. It consisted of a black crop top, tight black leggings with a belt for her weapons, a long black cloak that was slightly tattered, and a black mask that covered the area above her nose, only exposing her eyes and dark brown hair. She pulled the hood of her cloak over her head and fiddled with her keychain in her left hand "We fight our way in with the help of your handy demon mind control, find Lucifer, then I stab him in the chest, we go home and I buy you a taco"
"That's it? That's the whole plan?" Reid raised an eyebrow and Avis nodded. It was not the whole plan, she's not an idiot. Revealing the entire plan to anyone, even someone she trusts would be idiotic. The only way a secret stays secret is if nobody knows but you.
"Yep! Now, this is gonna feel a little weird since we are going so far" Avis grabbed Reid's shoulders as water began surrounding them. When the water was gone, they stood in the same hallway that Avis had seen her friends murdered in only weeks before
"Alright, I'm gonna go for the basement. You take the control room and tell me if you find anything" Avis motioned to the comms that both girls had in their ears
"Got it" Reid smiled and ran down the hallway as Avis made her way down the stairs.
This was it. After years of being trapped down here with no hope of an escape, she finally did it, only to end up right back here. It was almost poetic.
She found basically everything she thought she would, the decaying bodies of the guards they had killed, blood, and the cells where they had once been trapped. What she didn't expect was to see Jasper in one of them
"Par les dieux, Jasper? By the Gods, Jasper?" Avis spoke frantically in French, as she always did with her friend. She had begun teaching him when he first arrived as a way to calm him and distract him from the hellish situation, but it evolved into a way they could communicate with just each other.
"Tu dois sortir d'ici, c'est un piège! You have to get out of here, it's a trap!" Jasper banged on the glass but Avis ignored him and let her eyes glow. After placing a hand on the glass, it completely froze. She then waved her hand past it and the wall turned to liquid. Avis fell to the floor, hugging Jasper as tight as she possibly could
"Tu es en vie...You're alive..." She spoke into his arm and Jasper nodded, wincing slightly at the impact. Avis brought her hands to his face and her eyes glowed again as she began healing him. A few seconds later, all the bruising and blood that had been on his face was gone
"I need to go after Lucifer, but I'll get you out first..." She started before hearing dark laughter behind her
"Speak of the Devil" Lucifer smiled widely as he entered the room and Avis left Jasper's side. She felt for her keychain in her belt and fought the urge to tighten her grip around it
"I'd love to banter, but I really do have a plan to fulfill" Avis smiled and walked closer, but before she could even get a punch in, she felt a piercing pain in her stomach.
When the demigod looked down, she saw a large sword going straight through her. Behind her, Reid stood holding the sword Avis herself had given her, with a smirk on her face.
"So much for that taco huh?" Reid laughed and pulled the sword out of Avis' gut, letting the demigod fall to the ground
"Reid..." Avis' eyes were frantic as Jasper ran over to her and held her up against his legs
"Ace! I'll fucking kill you!" He turned to Lucifer, eyes brimming with tears and breath heavy, barely able to understand what was happening in front of him. Avis' eyes began to glow and with a wave of her hand, with what little energy she had, water began surrounding her and Jasper.
When the water was gone, they were on the floor of the map room in the bunker and Avis' eyes were barely open
"Ace, stay awake we can try to heal you, or-" He started but Avis shook her head as a small smile formed on her face
"Tout cela fait partie du plan, Mimic All part of the plan, Mimic" She let the nickname roll off her tongue as her final breath escaped her lips.
