An unfamiliar feeling of anxiety filled Avis as she stood on the porch of her last connection to her old life. It had been years since she saw her uncle, he probably thought she was dead. Though at this point that might be better, then she wouldn't be dragging him back into her messed up life.
She adjusted her clothes, still wearing the ones Dean had loaned her. Lucky for her she hadn't forgotten how to hot-wire a car so the getting here part was fairly easy. The rest of it? Not so much.
Her hand hesitantly rose to the door as she knocked. The pit in her stomach seemed to almost consume her as she waited for the door to answer. What would he say? Would he be mad? Would he think she simply abandoned him? The thoughts stopped as the door swung open and she was face to face with her uncle.
"Hey Bobby" A cautious but genuine smile grew on her face and Bobby stood there, thinking he must be going crazy.
"Ace? That's not possible..." The screen door opened, and Avis walked in. The man leaned forward, Avis thought to hug her but instead, she was met with a knife to the throat
"By the Gods Bobby, I'm not a monster. It's me." She focused for a second and her eyes glowed blue. Bobby dropped his knife to the floor, now embracing Avis in an actual hug. Normally she wouldn't be comfortable with this, but it had been so long.
"How? Where the hell have you been girl?" Avis sighed, pulling away from the hug as they walked deeper into the house
"That's a long story that we don't really have time for. But it ends with me killing the Devil, well trying to anyway" She gave a slight smirk and Bobby sighed
'Here we go again.'

It had been about a week since Avis had returned to Bobby's and she wasn't any closer to getting a lead on the devil. But to be fair she wasn't all that worried about finding him. A demigod was no use against Lucifer without her weapons...
"Hey, Bobby" Avis entered the dusty library where her uncle could usually be found, nose in a book, and smiled "I'm gonna go make a couple stops...catch up with a few old friends, see if anyone has any leads on my stuff, I'll call you when I can ok?" Bobby hesitantly nodded and Avis walked over to him placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder "Don't worry old man, I'll watch my back"
"Just be careful Avis. You never know when that dick is gonna show up" She nodded and gave his shoulder an extra squeeze before walking back upstairs to grab her things. Thankfully, Bobby had never worked up the courage to get rid of her stuff, so she still had some clothes to change into.
Avis quickly got dressed in a faded Def Leppard t-shirt, high rise black ripped jeans, and combat boots. She pulled her black leather jacket over her arms and sighed, tying her hair into a messy bun. It was comforting being able to simply have free-will again, even though every move she made felt like she was ignoring her friends
The sound of Bobby's front door opening pulled her out of her trance. There were suddenly a couple of voices she swore she recognized, followed by Bobby's. Avis grabbed her keys, phone, and hurried down the stairs. She went wide-eyed seeing the last two people she ever expected,
"Dean? Sam?" Her voice was more confused than worried but to be fair neither knew of the other one's connection to the hunter
"Avis? What the hell are you doing here?" Dean raised an eyebrow and Avis swore he looked almost relieved. But she ignored it, thinking she must've been seeing things
"Wait you guys know each other?" Bobby's finger waved between the three of them and they all looked at him
"Barely..." Avis muttered and moved her hair out of her face "Did you guys follow me? Cause I mean no offense but that's a little creepy-"
"Don't flatter yourself, we just to came to see Bobby" Dean retorted, and Avis smirked playfully, looking back at her uncle "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I came to see my uncle" Both Winchesters looked between them wide-eyed and Bobby avoided their eye contact as Avis tried to figure out what the relationship there was
"Uncle?!" Sam and Dean said at the same time
"Yeah, it's usually what you call a parent's sibling-" Bobby gave her a look and Avis shut up, still amused slightly by the situation
"Look it's a long story but I'm happy to fill you in" Bobby sighed, and Sam shook his head
"It's fine we were actually coming here for help locating Avis anyway," Sam pointed out and Avis smirked at Dean
"What was that about me not flattering myself again?" Dean rolled his eyes, attempting to hide the red that had covered his cheeks and Avis let out a small laugh "Anyway, you found me so good job. But I was actually just on my way out..."
"Hold up, you're just leaving?" Sam raised an eyebrow and she started towards the front door, both boys following her, Bobby simply going back to the library knowing he didn't want to be present for this
"Yep." She opened the door, but Sam simply closed it as soon as she did "Look it's nice that you guys wanna help I guess, but I have it handled."
"We aren't going to leave you alone until you let us help" Dean piped up and Avis raised her eyebrow challengingly. They stood like that for a second, Sam simply awkwardly watching them have a weird staring contest
"Fine. But I'm driving." Dean was about to protest but she was already out the door headed towards a dark blue jeep. Avis hopped in the front seat, taking a deep breath
"So where exactly are we going?" Dean raised an eyebrow as he and Sam made their way into the car. Sam in the back, and Dean in the passenger seat
"I need to track down my stuff, so I need to head back to my apartment in Brooklyn" She explained as she started the car and the sound of 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac began filling the car
"Then what?" Sam raised an eyebrow
"Then we find Lucifer and I kill him," Avis spoke simply and they gave her an uncertain look she didn't bother to acknowledge because Avis knew something that they didn't. Lucifer messed with the wrong fucking demigod.
