The whole week at school has been...interesting. My classmates have been oddly nice to me. I hate it. Yes, it's nice that they are trying to be kind, but they're o my doing it out of pity. I'm now cancer girl. The sick girl.
I was walking in the halls and I see everyone whispering to their friends and pointing to me. I even heard one person whisper "It's the sick girl" to her friend. This is why I didn't want anyone to know. I'm now the talk of the school. I'm the center of attention. If I'm in class and I cough, my teachers and the kids in the class freak out. If I yawn in class, they freak out. If I don't feel like eating, they freak out. I could go on but for your sake, I won't.
It was middle of March and Spring Formal is coming up. I still haven't been asked by Tyler and I think he'll ask soon. If not, I'm not going. I was walking into class and there was a note on my desk. These few weeks before the formal the teachers allow the students to do stuff to ask people to go with them instead of staying in class. I read the not and it said to go to the softball field. I got there and there were three softballs on the mound. One said "Prom?" The other two said yes or no. Tyler appeared in the batters box holding a bat in the batting stance with Alexis behind him in the catching position. I picked up one of the balls and pitched it to him. He purposely missed and Alexis caught it. She handed it to Tyler and he read it. It looked at me happy.
"You will?" He asked. I smiled and nodded a yes.
"SHE SAID YES!!" Alexis yelled. I laughed and Tyler ran to me and hugged me.
"Don't hurt your. You know the saying don't you?" Eliot said walking up to us, directing his question at Tyler.
"You break her heart I'll break you?" Tyler answered, unsure of his answer.
"No. Never break a softball players heart. Remember, they have a bag and can swing it before you can say sorry. DUH!" Eliot responded smiling. I rolled my eyes and laughed a bit while Tyler tensed up a bit.
"Yes sir." Tyler told my brother. Everyone started laughing as we walked back to class.
When I got to class the teacher came up to me smiling. I smiled back at her because I didn't know what else to do.
"Did he ask you?" She asked. I giggled a bit and looked down blushing a little.
"Yeah." I responded.
"What'd you say?" She asked yet another question that wasn't really her business but I answered anyway.
"I said yes. How'd you know he was going to ask me?"
"He came in here to let me know you would be gone for a bit if you found the note." She answered. I just nodded my head. I can't wait to go dress shopping for the formal.
Alexis and I made plans to go dress shopping after school. Her and Jaxson broke up so she decided just to go with friends. School was taking forever though, to finish the seven cruel hours of our lives.
School finally finished and Alexis and I were walking back for our house to get my mom to come with us to the store.
When we got home, well, home to my house, my mom was already ready. We got ready and went to multiple stores to find dresses. First we went to Macy's, next JCPenny, and lastly, we went to Ross. We got something from each of the stores, from Macy's we got make up. From JCPenny we got dresses. From Ross we got shoes. My mom was so excited about us going to the formal. What I wasn't excited about, was hearing her stories of when she went when she was our age.
My mom was going to do our hair and make up for the formal because she really wanted to help us get ready. We really didn't care but hey, it's one less thing for us to do. She was really good at doing my hair and Mae up before so I wasn't really against the idea. I can't wait for the formal. I'm so excited!
