"So, who taught you how to drive horribly, anyways?" Tony said with a smirk.
"I can drive fine, thanks for asking. Also, you probably ran into me. I can tell you have a massive crush." You wink.
"Yeah, yeah. Just because you are pretty doesn't mean I ran into your car. And for the record, my lawyer will be contacting you very soon."
As Tony drives, you can't help but notice the wind blowing in his hair, the late-afternoon sun shining on his perfect face. You weren't one to let boys mess with you, but he was different.
"Sure. You're bleeding, here." You say as you blot his face with a napkin. He stares at you and you say, "Eyes on the road, mister!"
"Please, call me your highness. It's only fitting."
"Sure, princess." You say.
As the Avengers building comes into view, you realize that it was way more massive in person. The shining silver exterior was almost orange against the sunset light.
Tony gets out of the car and starts towards the building. "You know, we could always use another pilot," he says.
"Call me in a year when I'm done with my training."
"Are you sure you don't want to come inside?" Tony says, looking eager.
You glance at the building, wondering what superhumans you would have the opportunity to meet, and reply, "Sure. Why not?"
As you and Tony walk into the building, it's surprisingly empty. "Where is everyone? Aren't you supposed to have friends?"
Tony looks at you and says, "Thor and the Hulk are off to God knows where, so in the meantime, it's just me, Natasha, and Steve."
Captain America. You had never met him but you felt as though you already knew him. Being in the public eye does that, I guess. You wouldn't know.
Tony walks into the kitchen and says, "Jarvis, let Rogers know we have a guest he should meet."
"Right away, sir. I believe he is currently training, per the usual. I will fetch him," a voice echoes through the large building, startling you.
"Coffee?" Tony says as he holds up a mug. Who drinks coffee at 5 o'clock?
"No, thanks. I prefer to be able to sleep," You reply.
"Tony never sleeps. He's always off working in his lab on new versions of the suit," a deep voice behind you says. Captain America. His massive features loom over you as you shake your hand.
"Hi, Mr. Rogers, I'm-" you start to say, then are interrupted.
"Major Y/N Y/L/N, pilot training in the air force. Just flew her first solo flight," Tony says, smirking at you. You roll your eyes.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N. And please, call me Steve."
You look into his dirty blond hair, messy from training, and his green-blue eyes. Are all of these guys just really hot or something? "Thanks," you reply with a smile.
You realize someone is standing in the corner of the room. Not many people are able to sneak up on you, but you turn to face Black Widow. The infamous assassin is just feet from you as you walk over to her to shake her hand.
"Hi, welcome to the compound, Y/N. Call me Natasha or Nat, whichever you like best."
The four of you talk for a while until it is almost 6:00. You say your goodbyes and start to leave. Just as you are about to get into your car, Tony calls your name.
"Hey, Y/N, I really hope you will consider the job offer. It would be nice to have someone like you in the compound."
Someone like me?
"Like I said, call me in a year. Here's my number, I just want to finish my training before branching off from the air force."
"Clint could always train you. He's an excellent pilot, as you probably know."
"Bye, Tony. Try to not get too close to the moving vehicle this time."
Tony laughs and waves at you as you drive away from the Avengers building.
