-the next morning-

You kissed Tony Stark.

The words had barely sunken in even though it was almost 16 hours later. You decided to play it cool and just avoid him the entire day. That should be easy, right? The compound is huge.

You opened your door, made sure Tony wasn't there, then walked towards the kitchen.

While you were eating breakfast, someone came blasting through the doors and started rummaging through the kitchen cabinets.

"Damn you, Stark. Where are the poptarts?" He said in some sort of accent. "Oh, sorry Miss, I didn't see you there. Do you happen to know if there are any poptarts lying around anywhere?"

"Um, I think they're over here." you handed him the box. It took you a second to recognize him because he was in casual clothing, but it now occurred to you that Thor, the god of thunder, was standing just feet away from you.

"Thank you," Thor said with a grunt. "And who might you be?"

"I'm Y/N Y/L/N. I'm the newest avenger, and I'm a pilot. Nice to meet you, sir." How do you address Gods?

"Nice to meet you too, and you can just call me Thor. Anyways, what's going on here in Midgard?"

You assumed that meant Earth, so you told him about what happened after... Loki. You told him about everything from how you became an Avenger to the newest presidential election.

"So Barack, son of Obama will now rule over Midgard for the next four years? I thought kingship was a life-long commitment." Thor asked, seemingly confused. You guessed he didn't know much about Earth, so you stifled a laugh and tried to explain.

"No, just the United States, the country we're in now." You said, as Thor finished the rest of the poptarts.

You and Thor continued talking about Asgard and his family when you heard a yell come from the compound intercom that was only meant for emergencies.

"Y/N! Come to the lab! NOW!" was all Tony said, along with what sounded like a glass breaking.

"Guess that's my cue," you said to Thor as you left the kitchen.

Even before you got to the lab, you could tell something was wrong. Loud metal clanking erupted through the halls, until complete silence. You now started to run, throwing open the door to Tony's workshop.

You looked around, and Tony was gone. "Tony?" you shouted, walking around. "Are you okay?"

"So, you care about my well-being." a voice said behind you.

You jumped, spun around, and Tony's chocolate eyes met yours.

"Sounds like you like me," he smirked. You glared at him, giving your best I-hate-you face. He obviously didn't get the message, because he moved closer to you, looking you up and down.

"Hey! Tin can! My eyes are up HERE," you pointed at your face. "I hope you know that we never kissed. It didn't happen, and it will never happen again."

Tony smiled. "So you admit that it happened."

You turned and started to leave the lab, when he grabbed your hand, spinning you around.

"Oh, no, you don't, Y/N. You stay here." His childish smile could be heard through his voice.

You replied with something you would instantly regret. "Make me."

You turned again and started to leave. As you were about to open the door, a cold metal hand grabbed your arm again. The metallic voice said, "Oh, now you're just asking for it." He grabbed you and flew out the hole that you had put in the wall.

You screamed. "TONY!" You were trying to be mad, but you couldn't help but smile as he set you on the ground, the suit's bright eyes staring at you with an unrelenting glare. Tony took off the helmet, and held your hands in his. He now towered over you, the suit adding at least an inch or two to his height.

"That's one way to sweep someone off their feet. I bet you take every girl you meet for little 'rides'," you added sarcastically.

"What if I did? Huh? Would that make me even more irresistible? Just admit it-" Tony was cut off, sent flying through the air with a bolt of lightning.

"THOR! WHAT THE HELL?!" Tony yelled, aiming his repulsor at the man holding the hammer.

"I heard Miss Y/N scream, so I helped her by hitting her attacker with a bolt of lighting." Thor said. I couldn't tell if he actually thought I was in trouble or he just wanted to make Tony mad. Either way, it was funny.

"I'm fine, Thor. I was just about to leave. Right, Tony?" you said, glancing at Thor, then back at Tony.

Tony didn't answer; he just laid on the ground, flat on his back. When he tried to get up, he cringed.

"Ooh, yeah, you might wanna just lay there for a minute and think about your actions," you said as you and Thor walked towards the building. Everyone was now outside, including Nat, Sam, and Steve. Did they really watch the whole thing?

"Up top," you said, holding up your hand.

Thor looked at your hand, then back to you. "What does that mean?" He said yet again, looking extremely confused.

You then taught Thor what a high five was. If someone told you this was how your life would be, even a year ago, you would've died of laughter.

All the Avengers high-fived Thor, saying that someone finally put him in his place.

Just today, you ate breakfast with Thor, got tackled by Iron Man, almost kissed Tony Stark, again, and saw two Avengers have a temper tantrum. And that was all before noon.
