What’s with Grey?

By: imbethqui

Not the color but definitely the most awaited movie adaptation of the year, Fifty Shades of Grey.

A lot were terrified when the rumor of the movie being banned in The Philippines because of it's content. But don't worry, the movie's going to be shown here, 100% true! (You just have to be over 18 to do so.)

50 Shades of Grey received an R-18 rating in the Philippines, given by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). What do we expect? Just be thankful that the movie's not banned at all, right? And we do not advise to wait for the pirated copies or the torrent links to be uploaded since it's no fun watching this blurred. And speaking of blurred, the movie will have blocks and blurs in their much-anticipated steamy sex scenes. Need to point your finger at someone? Point it at Columbia Pictures.

For those who doesn't know or those curious cats, Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James. It is the first installment in the Fifty Shades trilogy that talks about a college graduate (Anastacia Steele) and a billionaire businessman's (Christian Grey) not so common relationship. The story's notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism (BDSM).

Following Fifty Shades of Grey are Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, which, will both have their own movie adaptations as well. More reasons to watch the first movie, right?

The movie stars 25-year old American actress and model, Dakota Johnson and 32-year old Northern Irish actor, model, and musician, Jamie Dornan.

***TRIVIA***

~The casting of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele was one of the most talked about throughout Hollywood, with fans pushing for the likes of Garrett Hedlund, Chris Evans,Henry Cavill, Matt Smith, Ryan Gosling, Armie Hammer, Robert Pattinson, Matt Bomerand Chris Hemsworth to be considered for Christian, and Emma Watson, Scarlett Johansson, Kat Dennings, Olivia Wilde, Emilia Clarke, Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lawrence for the role of Anastasia. Christian Cooke and Dominic Cooper auditioned for Christian, with Stephen Amell being reportedly in talks for the role at some point. Finally, Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson were cast, with Johnson beating out the likes of Shailene Woodley, Elizabeth Olsen, Imogen Poots, Danielle Panabaker, Lucy Hale and Felicity Jones. Hunnam withdrew later due to scheduling conflicts with his show Sons of Anarchy. Alexander Skarsgård, François Arnaud, Billy Magnussen, Patrick J. Adams and Luke Bracey were then front runners for Hunnam's replacement beforeJamie Dornan was finally selected.

~The first time Christian shows Ana his playroom is also the first time Dakota sees it. The producers wanted her to look as surprised and shocked as possible, so they didn't show her the finished room before they filmed that particular scene.

~The first trailer included a special version of "Crazy in Love" by singer/actress Beyoncé Knowles. She recorded the version specifically for the film. The song was referenced by Anastasia Steele in the second book of the Fifty Shades trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker.

~The soundtrack includes music from Beyonce, Ellie Goulding, The Weeknd, Sia, and original compositions from Danny Elfman.

So, care to share what scene in the story is your favorite?
