Chapter 16: Matt's Birthday Party

It was 8PM when I looked down on my phone. I was in the car with Cody and we were driving to Matt's house.

I had to admit that I was a little nervous but I was also excited to see Matt and Nick again.

I was wearing a black tight dress with some black high heels and my hair was straighten. I also put on some mascara and black eyeliner.

I felt my heart beat faster when Matt's house was in sight. It was big and really pretty. There were a lot of cars in front of his house, which made me even more nervous. I saw Alex's car, which made my stomach twist somehow. I think I really wasn't ready to see him again.

When we finally found a good parking spot, we stepped out of the car with the presents in our hands, that we got Matt. I got him a really nice cologne and some chocolate, while Cody got him a really pretty shirt and a necklace.

My breath was getting heavier each time we got closer to the house. I looked over to Cody and he gave me a little smile.

Then we went up the stairs to Matt's front door. I could hear the loud music coming from the inside. Cody ringed the doorbell. It didn't took too long till someone opened the door. I could feel my heart beat hard against my chest. I don't know why I was so nervous, I really couldn't explain it.

It was Matt who opened the door. He had a bright smile on his face when he saw us.

I hugged him tightly.

"Happy Birthday Matty", I said as I gave him his present. He thanked me and put it on the desk where all his other presents were.

We stepped inside and there were people everywhere. I really had no idea Matt had this many friends to be honest. I tried to look for Nick or Alex but I was only seeing strangers.

Someone put their hand on my shoulder and when I turned around it was Matt.

"Let's get you to Alex and Nick", he said as he was slightly pushing me through the crowd. We had to stop every few steps we took though, because all the time people would come up to Matt and wish him a happy birthday or hand him their presents.

I had to admit that I was a little jealous of Matt. I wish I had this many friends. 

After a little while I could finally see Nick and Alex. God I actually really wasn't in the mood to talk to Alex, but I missed seeing him so much. 

As we got closer to them I noticed that they weren't alone. Alex was talking to a girl and a boy, but I couldn't see who it was.

"Guys, look who's here!", said Matt when we reached them. I could feel the blood rush into my face, when they all looked at me.

"Diana!", Nick pushed me into a hug and I let out a little giggle. When he pulled away from me he put his arm around my shoulder. 

I looked over to Alex and the two other people next to him. My heart dropped when I realized who the girl was. 

It was Ava. What was she doing here? Was I dreaming?

I felt betrayed somehow. God it hurt. I didn't even bother to look at Alex. I really didn't want to be here.

"Hi I'm Miles"

It was the guy, who was standing next to Alex and Ava. I turned to look at him and gave him a little smile.

"I'm Diana. Nice to meet you", I said shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you too"

I already liked him somehow.

Of course both Alex and Ava stayed quiet.

I really thought about going away, but I didn't want to make Alex think that it was really bothering me that she was here, even though I was pretty sure you were able to see that in my face. I was feeling sick.
