THE TEAM ALL Went to their respective rooms, gearing up for the next phase of their new plan. Hadley grabbed the freshly washed clothes from her room slipping the tight fabric on over some padding, you can never be too careful. As she finishes tugging her leather jacket on she hears her door creek open lightly, turning quickly to face the intruder. She sees the kids peaking through the door, scared to upset her by sneaking in without permission, "Now what do you two think you're doing?" She smiles as they push the door further open, barreling in one after the other.
Lila rushes to attach herself to the girls legs and Cooper just standing their silently, eyes attached to the ground. Cooper had never been the most forthcoming with the girl, being older and understanding that she wasn't their actual sister, but he still cared for her. She could sense his disappointment, "What's up Coop?"
He keeps his head low as he swings his foot around kicking the floor, "You're leaving again." She had never felt like the boy completely accepted her so to see that he was visibly upset that she was leaving tugged at her heart strings, "I have to go, I have to help bud. But what do I always say, every time?" She reaches out placing her finger under his chin to lift his eyes to her. She can see the small boys eyes filling with tears, he knew she was in danger, "You'll be right back."
"Before ya know it kid. I promise." He nods as she bends down opening her arms up as an invitation which he surprisingly takes. He rushes forward into her arms as the small girl also curls into her side, "Please don't leave sissy." Her tone holds sorrow, as if she's afraid the girl won't return and she can't help but tear up herself, this was her family. "I promise you, both of you, that I will be back. I'll be back for you both so soon, and I'll never leave again, okay?" They both nod as she squeezes them tighter to her body, why did this hurt so much?
The kids unwrap themselves from her before exiting the room, her just behind them as they descend the stairs to join everyone else in the living room, "I'll take Natasha and Clint." Tony nods to Steve, acknowledging his team as they both discuss their plans.
"I'm coming too Steve." They hadn't seemed to notice the girl as she stood at the edge of the room, eyes snapping to her in surprise, "Hadley, no-" He tries to argue, they had all seen what effect Wanda had on her the last time they came in contact and didn't want to risk that happening again. "Steve, yes. I can do this, I need to do this." She pleads and she knows he'll fold, he always does. Before their argument can last any longer Tony interrupts, "Alright, strictly recon. I'll hit the NEXUS, I'll join you as soon as I can."
They all nod in acknowledgement, the men continue talking, Nick joining in, as the girl walks over to Laura. She smiles sadly as the woman returns her expression pulling each other into a tight hug, "Come back to me sweetheart." She mutters out that she will before releasing the woman and moving to kiss the two kids on the head.
