"HADLEY ?

ITS OKAY !"

THE REMAINDER Of her shift went by in silence, with Pietro eventually dozing off against the footboard of the bed. She remained focused on the living room across from her, attempting to fight sleep herself.

Her eyes were drooping closed due to her tiredness before something catches her eye. They'd been watching for 10 hours and nothing happened until just now. She sees a light flip on in one of the other rooms, the light spilling into the living room. She jolts up in surprise before pulling her camera up to begin photographing.

Holding the camera in one hand she tries to wake up Pietro, but she can't reach him. She feels around for a random object before chucking it in his direction eliciting a groan from his sleeping, "The hell?" He curses but looks to see Hadleys free hand waving frantically to get his attention.

He moves quickly to the window sitting on his knees and looking for what she's seeing. He sees the light on and goes to ask what's going on before being shushed, "Don't be so loud. I'm not sure what he's doing." She mumbles out quietly before asking the time again, "4:52. You didn't wake me up to switch?"

His voice is brought down now, staying as quiet as he can as he looks at her confused. "You needed to rest. I'm just the eyes but you're the extra set of hands." She mumbles trying to say it nonchalantly as if it was nothing. When in reality she didn't care that he was the extra set of hands, sure he was a dick but she's still a nice person. He looked peaceful, finally sleeping, she didn't want to ruin that.

He looks at her with a hint of adoration as his cheeks tint a light pink, he's unbelievably thankful for the darkness surrounding them and the fact that she isn't looking at him right now. "Thank you." He mumbles out against his better judgement and Hadley can't help but quirk her lips up into a grin.

She pushes her thoughts away as she lifts the camera to begin taking pictures, just in case he does something. And then he steps into frame. She holds her breath as he walks into the living room calmly, he looks as if he's still sleeping. She furrows her eyebrows in confusion at the strange behavior but feels a chill go through her body, somethings wrong.

The man walks to the center of the exposed living room before stopping, his hands pressed firmly to his sides. He stares at the other side of the room with an empty expression before snapping his head to the window, and making eye contact with the girl. She tries to look away but his stare is hard and cold, holding her in his gaze.

She feels her body go cold as she hopes he doesn't truly see her but then he quirks his head to the side and smiles, holding up a hand to wave. She holds her breath in anticipation as she ducks quickly pulling Pietro with her. She pants out as anxiety consumes her and he is still confused as to what is happening. "He knows." She lets out in a shaky breath and that's all he needs before he's up and running through to everyone else's rooms.
