"get it over with."

THEIR DAYS Went on as that one day, each day they grew closer, happier with each other. But she wasn't ready to give in yet, the thought of him leaving still lingering.

He could tell she was hesitant, and though it hurt him he understood. Spending each day finding a new way to prove he was here for good, for her.

He fell into a routine of packing her lunches for her shifts at the store, bringing her coffee halfway through the day, and having dinner ready for her when she got home—if he wasn't messing it up somehow.

Today was different though, walking from his room he found her sat on the couch as the TV played quietly in front of her.

Walking to stand beside the couch he looks down to observe her, seeing her eyes wide and emotionless. "Hadley?"

Her head snaps up as she's pulled from her trance, "Hey, what're you doin' up?" She rubs her dried out eyes as she begins looking for her discarded cell phone. "It is 6 am, have you not slept?"

Her eyebrows crease in confusion as she continues searching for her phone, no recollection of sitting there as long as she had. So instead of telling the truth a lie slips past her lips, "Yeah, of course. I woke up not too long ago."

And though he knows she's lying he doesn't push it, being able to see that if he questioned her she'd snap. So instead he nods silently before spotting her phone in the kitchen. "Oh, here's your ph-"

Once he disappeared and his voice cut off she turns in confusion to see his back to her as he stands in the kitchen entryway. "What is it?" She feels the anxiety slipping off his body and into hers as she takes slow steps towards him.

Walking behind him she peers past his arm to see what has him so rattled. She sees her phone perched on the corner of the kitchen but also finds what appears to be a pool of blood surrounding a broken glass.

The blood leaves a trail, gliding all the way to the other side of the kitchen and onto the wall, leading to the light switch. She follows it silently, tears forming in her eyes in fear.

But she finds nothing, other than a clear view of the couch she had previously been sitting on. "What the-" And before she can finish the sentence Pietro turns her body quickly as he cradled her arm in his hands gently.

"My god, draga." His eyes are wild with fear as she looks down to see the dry blood coating her arm, a large open wound found covering her forearm. She begins stuttering, not even noticing the wound.

"I-I don't-" She can't seem to find the words as her breathing increases, "I don't remember t-this. I-I can't-" She falls to her knees as the tears spill, Pietro wrapping his arms around her gradually falling body.

Her body begins to shake due to the involuntary sobs escaping her and the boy pulls her closer, a hand pressed firmly on her back as the other strokes her hair. And he isn't sure what was happening to the girl but he was going to do everything in his power to fix it.

The girl eventually fell asleep, exhaustion from the events of the morning and not sleeping the night previously taking effect. Pietro took the liberty to call the shop and inform Mark that she had an accident and wouldn't be in for the day.

Since then he had placed himself on the couch, her body curled into his lap. His hand dances through her dark hair as his eyes continuously glance between her sleeping face and the rerun of Full House on the television.

His worry for the girl only grew as every so often he would glance to her damaged arm. He knew the months after his departure had been rough for her but he was quickly coming to realize that he wasn't sure just how rough she had it.

Her body stirred in his lap as a yawn escapes her sleeping lips, he smiles down to her nearly peaceful state. However the moment is ruined as the small sweat on her forehead i increases, her body jolting forward towards the other end of the couch.

He moves quickly, holding a hand out cautiously as he chest rises and falls heavily. "It is just me darling, it is okay." She meets his eyes, the fear pooling in them very evident. She nods wildly as she glances around the apartment.

I'm home, it's Pietro, I'm safe, I'm okay. She repeats the mantra in her head, flashes of the nightmare overtaking her brain as she screws her eyes shut, "I'm sorry." She whispers out as her hands grip her hair in frustration.

He shakes his head in protest and attempts to move closer to the distressed girl only for her to push herself farther away, "Don't."

Her words are hushed as he stares at her in confusion, worry overtaking him but he ignores it. "Hadley talk to me-"

"I can't-" They begin speaking over each other, Pietro just wishing to be there for her and her not having the mental capacity to allow him, "No! I can't! Just stop!"

His eyes widen as her voice rises, in all the time he has known her she's never yelled at him like this. "You weren't here Pietro. You wouldn't understand!" Her teeth grit as her fear turns to anger, misguided anger.

She stands abruptly and begins stomping away, hoping to isolate herself in her room, "Hadley wait!" He tries, he really does.

His worry quickly turns to guilt as he tries to make amends, just wanting to help. "Wait for what Pietro? For you to leave again?" At this he stops, his body frozen as she turns with a glare. "You left once and we both know it's just a matter of time before you leave again. So just save us both the heart break and get it over with!"

And with that she slams her door shut behind her, locking it quickly. She slides down the door, tears escaping her eyes. But little does she know he's sat on the opposite side, doing just the same.
