"you can't fix me."

THE TEAM Had tried coming to terms with their special situation. But they couldn't help feeling bad for putting Hadley through all of this again.

Her and Pietro had been with them for weeks now, on the run the whole time. They would make pit stops every now and then for minor missions but nothing too major so that they could stay under the radar.

Hadley found out very quickly though that this wasn't her life anymore, this wasn't the life she wanted anymore. She fought when necessary, when it was a life or death situation.

And at the risk of sounding selfish, she is so tired of fighting for everyone else except herself. She loved helping and saving people but she didn't want to lose herself in the process anymore.

She didn't however miss how natural this came to Pietro. This was the life he wanted, the one he signed up for. And that thought has driven her to her current conclusion. She just wasn't sure how to bring it up to him.

She picks at her fingers as the team files back into the jet, "How'd it go?" She asks not looking up from the nearly bleeding skin. They all simply shrugged at the girl, looking defeated, all but one.

Pietro felt just as down as the rest of the team but seeing the girl sat there waiting for them instantly brightened his mood. As soon as he heard her voice a smile was painted on his lips.

He had been doing everything possible to ensure that she was happy—or as close to happy as she could get given the current situation.

He sits beside her, but his smile begins to fall as she doesn't look up at him at all. He nudges her lightly, trying to gain her attention but he still doesn't get it.

"Hey." She speaks up but still doesn't look his way, "We need to talk when we get back." His chest deflates as fear crosses his features.

Steve noticed the interaction, but chooses to stay silent for the moment. Only to realize that was the extent of their conversation. "Hey short stack?"

Her head shoots up tiredly, her eyes bloodshot from the lack of sleep. "Come here for a second?" She nods slowly, moving across the jet to sit by him.

She sits silently, crossing her legs with her hands still interlocked. She notices the five o'clock shadow growing on Steve's face and realizes it makes him look older. "What's goin' on?" He asks, nodding his bead in the direction of a now moping Pietro.
