Marvel and Sung Kyung were walking down the street hand-in-hand. It was late enough at night that neither one of them cared who saw, and they were in a completely different part of town where no one from work could see them. They quickly entered the LGBTQA club, where they went to take a few shots before dancing. Marvel went to claim a table for them, and Sung Kyung brought five shots for each of them. After downing the liquid courage, the two held hands and walked to the dance floor. Marvel was dancing with Sung Kyung, like they were the only two people in the world. They were kissing each other and having a great night.
Marvel and Sung Kyung kept drinking and dancing, but Marvel had started to feel off. Normally alcohol did not make her fuzzy... but the world around her was turning to a blur. The multi-colored lights danced into haze, and Marvel realized she needed to get some air, her vision going blurry. The two walked outside the club and leaned against the wall of the building.
Sung Kyung was kissing Marvel's neck, when she felt her girlfriend torn away from her. Marvel looked through fuzzy eyes, and saw Sung Kyung's ex-boyfriend. He had shoved her to the ground and was getting ready to hit her when Marvel jumped onto his back. The ex easily threw her off his back and Marvel landed on the ground. Her right hand rolled over broken glass, slicing open the back of her hand. The world was becoming more fuzzy, and Marvel was going in and out of consciousness.
She tried to get up to defend Sung Kyung, but a man she could not recognize made her stay on the ground. Marvel tried to get up, but she could not. She watched in a drunken haze as Sung Kyung and the ex-boyfriend were being arrested. Another police officer walked over to Marvel and helped her stand. She did not understand what was happening, but she turned to look for the man that saved her.
But he was gone.
Marvel clung to the police officer and started to fade into darkness.

Marvel was sitting in a cafe, anxiously waiting. In three months she had lost a significant amount of weight, and was worried Detective Oh would not recognize her when he arrived. She started to pick at her nails while she waited, worried that he might not come. Her anxiety was building and building, until she heard the cafe door chime. She looked up and saw Detective Oh, who was walking right towards her with a large smile on his face.
"Ms. Maro, you are looking amazing, how are you doing?" He asked, sitting down and looking at the menu.
"I'm doing okay... I actually... I wanted to meet with you and tell you that I am so thankful for all you have done for me, but I am leaving Korea at the end of the school year. So I just wanted to thank you one last time before we parted ways," she said, picking at her nails again.
Detective Oh reached across the table and stopped her hands.
"Are you still being harassed at the school?" he asked with concern. He took her silence as a yes.
"You know... my girlfriend's sister works for one of the entertainment companies... E something. They are starting a whole department for teaching their idols foreign languages, I bet I could talk with her and see if you could at least interview. I know how much you want to teach english..." he said, squeezing her had to reassure her.
"I couldn't ask you to do that..." Marvel said, recoiling her hands.
"That's the thing... you don't have to," he said with a smile, "In fact, I know those two are out shopping right now... why don't I call them here so you can meet them!" he said, pulling out his phone and dialing his girlfriend's number.
