Chapter 09: The Search

After their talk, the rest of the month went by, and their tour began. They started their tour off in Seoul, and their concert was a huge success. Once their three days in Seoul were over, they took off on their private plane and flew to start their tour off in Asia, and they went to Japan, Thailand, and then they performed in Hong Kong then they performed in Russia.

During this time Marvel was not of much use as a translator. She only spoke a little Mandarin, no Thai or Russian, and the GSH members were more fluent in Japanese than she was. So while she was able to go from country to country, she had a lot of down time.

While a normal person would spend this time in foreign countries exploring, or watching GSH rehearse for free, Marvel spent her time looking for Son Hye Kyo, the mysterious woman Yun Gu was speaking with. Ho Seong and Marvel were determined to find her, and figure out a way to save Yun Gu.

While she had a hard time finding any leads on the person, she did find the Private Investigator, Oh Moo Gak, who had a website dedicated to finding the mysterious Son Hye Kyo. After reading through the website, many people had been having similar dreams and occurrences just like Ho Seong and Marvel. So while they were in Hong Kong, she messaged P.I. Oh to see if he could help her find the person tormenting Yun Gu.

P.I. Oh had gotten back to her in a timely manner, and was shocked to find out that they would be in Saint Petersburg at the same time. She met with him at a local cafe, where she told him the whole story. Oh Moo Gak diligently took notes the whole time and nodded his head to make sure Marvel knew he was understanding her story.

Once she finished her story, Oh Moo Gak sighed and looked at her.

"Your case sounds like so many of the other's I've been working for," he said, rubbing his temples, "I don't have much to tell you right now... I just know she is on the move. That's why I am here, a source of mine told me she would be in Saint Petersburg."

"It's odd that she would be here too... Do you think she is following us?" Marvel asked with concern.

"Why would she be following you and your friends specifically?" he asked skeptically.

"I don't know... but... I think I have the right to be concerned," Marvel snapped.

"Why? Are you the friend that dies over and over again?" Oh Moo Gak asked with concern.

"W-what?" she asked in horror.

"Every group I talk to... there is one person that dies, apparently in every world they experience. You know about the multiple worlds right?"

"No... I... my boyfriend and I just assumed they were memories of past lives... What do you mean by multiple worlds?" she asked.

"Well I am no scientist, but from what I can tell, everyone remembers these 'past lives' happening all in the same year. Now I don't know this for sure... but I can only take that to mean they are parallel universes or other worlds people are stuck in..." he explained.

In a way... it made sense to Marvel, but her memories were only from high school.

"I understand what you are trying to theorize, but doesn't my story make an exception? My memories are from high school... in 2009... My boyfriend and I have not had any memories from 2020," Marvel calmly rebutted.

"Right... you two just haven't had the second phase of memories yet... soon, you will remember the other lives you have lived... that will be able to help me more once you remember more. And when you do, make sure you write everything down right away so you don't forget any details, alright?" Oh Moo Gak said, taking her hand and looking at her with a serious tone.
