Make it Right

Chapter 08: Something Strange

Friday 24 April Year 2020

Somehow, the three of them had spent the day sleeping.

At one point Ho Seong brought Marvel back to his bedroom so she was not sleeping on his couch. He laid her in between himself and Yun Gu, and when we finished tucking her in, he stared at Yun Gu, and felt irritated.

He tried to tell himself it was just a dream, but the dream felt so real... he was upset that Yun Gu had stolen Marvel from him and their friendship seemed to end over their mutual feelings for Marvel. Ho Seong side and told himself to let go of the dream. He climbed onto the bed and curled up next to Marvel and joined them in their deep sleep.

Yun Gu was watching Marvel sleep as Ho Seong spooned her. Ho Seong's nose and lips rested on Marvel's neck, and he looked at peace. Yun Gu started to stroke her hair as he watched her. She moved a little in her sleep at his touch and he recoiled his hand. He did not want to disturb her sleep.

Last night, Yu Ri had given her the day off after the eventful day Marvel had, and Yun Gu was determined to make sure she was resting properly. Between being attacked by the security guard, the police station, coming to terms with their relationship and the hospital visit... Marvel had to be exhausted. He certainly was. He was having a hard time figuring out how he was supposed to save her in this world... but for now, it seemed like things were on track. He could make this world work, and he could force himself to share her if it meant she lived.

When her breathing steadied, he inched closer to her and gently held onto her hands. He started to rub her hands with his thumbs. Ho Seong stirred in his sleep and he slowly sat up. His bed head bounced as he turned his head to look at Yun Gu.

"What time is it?" Ho Seong asked in his deep raspy morning voice.

"It's almost four in the afternoon," Yun Gu said, still stroking Marvel's hands.

"I can't believe how much we slept. Work is probably upset," Ho Seong said, turning his head away from Yun Gu and running his hands through his hair. "We are going to have to explain to Ji Woon... he... he is probably freaking out right now," Ho Seong said, regretting that he kissed Yun Gu yesterday.

"He'll understand once we talk to him... I mean, how could he not after-"

"Yes but still. Yesterday... was just a mess. I can't even imagine what she is feeling right now," Ho Seong said, turning to look at her. He started to stroke her cheek. Ho Seong felt Yun Gu's lingering gaze on him and the two stared into each other's eyes. Yun Gu reached and touched Ho Seong's hand, and felt nothing.

Ho Seong felt nothing too. Yun Gu recoiled his hand and looked back at Marvel. "Sorry..."  he mumbled to Ho Seong. 

"I'm gonna go shower and get dressed," Ho Seong said, getting up and walking to the shower. It felt off to Ho Seong that there was no electricity when it was so strong the day before.  Yun Gu continued to watch the woman he so desperately desired.

She shifted her body to lay on her stomach, and Yun Gu carefully moved her hair to see the scar on her neck. It was still there. In all the worlds he had been through to save her, something terrible had happened to her and she received the massive scar that went from behind her left ear, all the way down to her hip. Though he technically was not supposed to know how long the scar was yet, he did know, because in their original world... she got that scar saving him.

Yun Gu leaned and gently planted kisses on the scar. Slowly moving down her neck. This woke Marvel, whose eyes gently fluttered open. She was shocked to see that Ho Seong was missing and she sat up quickly and turned to see Yun Gu watching her, who stared at her with a loving look in his eye. She touched her scar, unsure as to why Yun Gu was kissing it.
