TRIGGER WARNING: EATING DISORDER MENTIONED

************

Tuesday 21 April Year 2020

Why is there so much noise at four in the morning? She thought to herself as she woke up in disarray. The sounds of construction filled the thin walls of her apartment. Dust was coming in through her opened window. She shoved herself up from her futon and glared at her window as she shoved it shut. She looked down at the dust that fell into puddles of water on her floor and growled. Great, now I am going to have to clean again and change my routine. Why is the sun out? God I hate being woken up before my alarm. I think I was actually having a good dream for once!

Marvel had these angry thoughts as she stretched and walked to the kitchen to drink some water. She was in the middle of chugging her filtered water when she stopped and saw the clocks blinking as if they had been unplugged. She turned back to the window and stared at the sun sneaking into her apartment. She slammed the water cup down and ran to her bathroom where her watch was, and saw that it was six-thirty in the morning.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" she screamed as she ran to the closet and ripped out the nicest clothes she could pair together. While she quickly applied makeup Marvel ordered a taxi at the same time. She ran out the door at six forty-five and rushed to the taxi. The driver got her to work at six fifty-six exactly, where she paid the man and ran from the cab. She scanned her ID at six fifty-nine and ran to the elevator, where she ignored the security guard Mister Lee. She slid in with the group of people cramming into the elevator, and somehow she managed to get shoved into the back corner, where Marvel was thrusted into none other than the Min Yun Gu of GSH.

The electricity that had occurred yesterday was back. They both stared into each other's eyes for what felt like eternity. As she looked into his eyes... she wondered if he remembered her.

But when Marvel's mom made Daegu their permanent home, Marvel started attending the same school as Min Yun Gu, and had had the biggest crush on him all throughout schooling. He was a few years ahead of him in school, so they only ever had a few conversations. But she had intended to confess to him once... but by the time she worked up the courage, he had already started dating one of her friends. She was devastated... but was quickly brought to reality he probably would have rejected her anyways, so she saved herself from embarrassment.

After the incident, when she got the job and EWE, she never imagined in a million years she would see her crush again. She worked with him on a daily basis, but she had never allowed herself to get this close to him. She had been a fan of the group since they debuted in 2013, and it was a dream to be able to work with him, but she had made sure to keep it professional.

She tried to slide away but the elevator was too cramped. She had to free herself from his touch, but he gently grabbed her wrist to keep her still. She tried to get off at the fourth floor, but his gentle hold on her wrist stayed. She could have easily pulled away without a fight, but she did not want to. Slowly as they reached more floors of EWE, she was able to free herself from her spot next to Min Yun Gu. She quickly moved to the other side of the elevator and stared at the floor. They got to the fourteenth floor and he exited the elevator, and held the door for Marvel.

"Miss K, aren't you getting off?" he asked in his deep raspy voice. She felt her heart stop. This was the first time they had spoken outside of tutoring, and she thought she was going to die.

"No, I forgot something in the lobby, and I need to go back down," She said in her deep silky voice.

She rarely spoke in Korean with him, but he remained impressed by how perfect her Korean was in every world they experienced together. He smiled his crooked smile and then walked away. As the elevator doors closed Marvel took a breath she did not realize she was holding. She put her hand on her chest trying to calm down how fast her heart was beating. She stayed on the elevator all the way to the lobby, she was crammed in with a bunch of people again, but she did not notice.
