"Hey baby, how are you doing?" Mom said as she came into my bedroom.
"Hey mom." I said and sighed. I looked at the time on my phone, it was already noon today.
"It's time you get up. You've been in here for almost 3 days."
"Mom, I'm not... I don't feel like-" I started but gave up. "I don't care mom." I said and went back under my covers.
She sighed and pulled the curtains open in my room and pulled the blanket off of me.
She sat down beside me and looked at me for a moment before saying "Listen to me baby. I know it's hard. I don't know what's going on with you but you staying in your room for such a long period of time is not okay. It hurts my heart that you are doing this to yourself. This can't go on for so long."
"I'm sorry mom but I physically can't pull myself to get up." I said looking away.
Mom started crying a bit and wiped a way her tears quickly. "My sweet, sweet child. I miss the Chloe who would pull me to come play dress up with her, the Chloe who always had a big smile on her face. I hate seeing you like this.""I need to get through this mom... and I can't control what you think but I'm not the same. I'm not that Chloe anymore."
"Well even if you are not the same, you are still my Chloe. Come on, we are going get our self up and together. You can't let anything control you, it's time you fix yourself and I'm here, holding your hand through it." Mom said and kissed my hand, enveloped in hers.
"Okay mom." I said and headed to the bathroom. I turned on the bright lights and looked at myself in the mirror. I was still in the same top from 3 days ago, I had just changed my pants after coming home. My hair was a mess and I had drool and makeup all over me.
Chloe you need to catch a hold of yourself.I brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair. Then I showered and shaved.
It took me a solid hour to become hygienic again. I already felt better but that little guilt feeling in my throat was still choking me no matter how much I tried to distract myself. None of my friends had called or asked anything about that day. I guess Alex and Tess also found out. Kai had still been calling me and checking up but he didn't know what was really going on.
After staring at my ceiling for a long time I got up and went inside my closet and picked out an outfit.
I decided to wear something comfy since I had no where to go anyways."Chloe come downstairs!" Mom yelled at me from the bottom of the staircase.
"I don't care about seeing anyone right now, I don't feel like coming down either." I said to get form my room.
"Someone's here to see you. Someone you probably want to see." She said.
Wait who is it?
I was intrigued and decided to go downstairs.
"Hey Chloe." I could recognize that voice anywhere.I went around the corner to the living room and sure enough, Davis was waiting for me at the couch.
"Davis!" I exclaimed and ran to him for a hug.
He laughed a bit and hugged me back.
"I missed you dude!" I said."Missed you too kid." He said and messed up my hair.
Davis was like my oldest brother. He was my first vocal coach. I remember when he first came up to me after our school talent show back in 8th Grade. I sang Firework by Katy Perry at the show and Davis was at the show. Davis himself was an amazing and talented well known songwriter and producer. He had believed in me when no one else did and I was so grateful and loved him so much.
"I heard you got your first gig." He said.
"Chloe? You have a show? Why didn't you tell me?" Mom asked, surprised."Oh I just... don't feel like going." I said.
"What? Chloe you have to go! This is important for you. Kai told me it was a big deal! You can't be a wallflower your whole life." Davis said."I'm just scared. I've never done anything this big... ever."
"You won't be alone! Kai is going to be there right beside you and your mom and I will obviously be in the crowd."
Mom nodded along with him and I considered it for a moment but decided to give in.
"Fine. I'll do it." I said and he gave me a hug.
"Okay I gotta go now. I have a long ass schedule but you know you can call me anytime. I'll always be here Peach." He said and headed to the door."Bye Davis." Mom said and I waved at him goodbye.
"Chloe." Mom turned to me.
"What mom? Let me watch Rupauls Drag Race in peace." I said.
"Chloe. Listen to me." She said and I turned to her."This gig at the speakeasy is a big deal. It can get you the exposure you need. I believe in you baby and you can't let a small breakup ruin it for you. I've taught you better." She said.
"Wait, how do you know I had a breakup?"
"Girl, you think I was born yesterday? Sarah told me she heard you and her son breaking up a few days ago and I'm not deaf, I've seen him crawling into your window like a centipede."
She said, nonchalantly."Mom, how do you know he snuck into my room?" I asked, surprised.
"You really think I wasn't gonna hear y'all moaning and banging so loud. When were you gonna tell me you were having sex Chlo?" Mom asked.
"Ew mom." I said and headed up the stairs.
"We're gonna get you on the pill before you end up pregnant young lady." Mom yelled at me from the living room.I closed the door to my bedroom and internally cringed. This is so awkward.
My phone chimed and I looked at it. I had gotten a text from Tessa.
Tessa: hey do you wanna go somewhere with me tonight?
Chloe: Um may I ask where?
Tessa: I can't tell you right now. Just be ready at 8. Wear something punk.Punk? What is she talking about?
I sighed and lay down in bed, waiting for time to go by.
