Chapter 7

"So, you finally arrived." a voice called from the corner.

That person emerged from his corner. He wore grey robes. On his right pinky, there was a black cast, keeping it straight.

"Where is Qin Ming? Why didn't she come see me? I did all these things for you, for Yiling. I left everything behind for you. But you got me into THIS?! Is your heart made of stone?!"

"She didn't come today. Therefore, everyone here HAS TO DIE!"

It was at this moment that the man lunged for Jin Ling with his fists. Being a talented cultivator, however, Jin Ling easily blocked it. The man then attempted to attack again and again, and Jin Ling blocked again and again.

"Please stop killing people, Mister." Jin Ling told the man.

"Why should I listen to you?!" the man yelled, lunging again.

Suddenly, a stream of light emerged from the sky. A loud bell erupted, knocking down both Jin Ling and the man.

"What the hell is that?" the man yelled. Suddenly, a man in black and red robes emerged from the sky. 

"Hello Ming Zheng." the heavenly cultivator said to the man. 

"Who? Who are you?" Ming Zheng replied.

"4 words. Yiling Patriach, Wei Wuxian." Wei Wuxian replied. "You two, bring him up to heaven"

"Ah, it is my dear nephew Jin Ling." Wei Wuxian greeted.

"Hey uncle," Jin Ling replied. "How come you are here?"

"Well, Ling Wen told me that the situation that you are in is related to the Burial Mounds and Yiling" Wei Wuxian explained. "So, here I am."

"Oh, cool." Jin Ling replied, not knowing what to say. "Sooo, what punishment will he get?"

"He'll be imprisoned under a mountain for eternity." Wei Wuxian informed.

"By the way, who is Qin Ming?" Jin Ling asked.

"Oh, it's another heavenly official, and former queen of Yiling. I have seen her before when I used to live here with the Wen remnants." Wei Wuxian told Jin Ling. "If you want to know the situation between Qin Ming and Ming Zheng, I could give you a quick summary."

"Sounds good."

A long time ago, Yiling and Jiangling used to be independent city-states. During this time, Yiling and Jiangling were at war with each other over control in the region. Qin Ming and Ming Zheng were on opposing sides, with Qin Ming representing Yiling and Ming Zheng representing Jiangling. After the war was over, Yiling was victorious and Jiangling was defeated. Unfortuantly, with Ming Zheng being a patriot, he tried to kill herself after being detained by Qin Ming's men. However, Qin Ming stopped Ming Zheng from commiting suicide. Suddenly, the two fell in love.

"Sounds romantic." Jin Ling commented.

"It was," Wei Wuxian agreed, "until the battle between Ezhou and Chongyang."

Like Yiling and Jiangling, Ezhou and Chongyang were rival city-states, vying for power. However, Ezhou were allies with Yiling, and Chongyang were allies with Jiangling. Obviously, the romance between the king of Jiangling and the queen of Yiling could not continue. However, Ming Zheng wanted to continue the relationship at all costs. Therefore, he betrayed his own country and gave Qin Ming all of Jiangling's and Chongyang's intel. However, Qin Ming took advantage of Ming Zheng. Even after the war ended with a decisive Yiling/Ezhou victory, Qin Ming still didn't want to continue the relationship. Feeling that his dream will never come true, Ming Zheng bitterly took her own life and started to torment all Yiling citizens as a *ghost.

"Now, who is right and who is wrong, I don't know." Wei Wuxian said.

"Qin Ming! I curse you!" Ming Zheng yelled into the sky. "I hope that Yiling burns into a crisp, just like Chongyang!"

As Ming Zheng was ranting, Wei Wuxian put two fingers to his head. This meant that Wei Wuxian was contacting some through the Spiritual Communication Array. After a while, Wei Wuxian put his two fingers down, and told Ming Zheng, "Qin Ming wants me to tell you that it would never happen."

Ming Zheng suddenly wen quiet for a second, before yelling into the sky again. "I curse you! I CURSE YOU!"

In the meantime, Jin Ling could only watch the situation unfold, as Ming Zheng was dragged by two heavenly soldiers.

"See you around, Jin Ling." Wei Wuxian said, walking away, before disappearing.
