Chapter 13

"See, this temple is quite shabby." Jin Ling said, entering with Hua Hua. "That's why I was concerned that you wouldn't be used to it."

"It's not bad," Hua Hua replied. "Where is the bed?"

"Uh, if you don't mind, we can share one tonight." Jin Ling said, pointing to a light brown mat.

Hua Hua looked at the bed, and he frowned. It was obvious that Hua Hua felt bad for Jin Ling, but Jin Ling never noticed.

"Jin Ling, this temple, isn't it missing some stuff?" Hua Hua asked.

"Besides believers, I'm not too sure." Jin Ling replied.

"What about the picture?" Hua Hua asked.

"Oh, I'll just paint one tomorrow." Jin Ling said, patting some of the dust off of the mat.

"I can paint too. I'll help you." Hua Hua said, offering his help.

"Thanks." Jin Ling replied. "Although, I think you don't know how to draw Lanling Jin's sect leader."

"I can." Hua Hua said. "Wasn't I just talking to him just now?"

"Do you really know him?" Jin Ling asked, surprised.

"Yes." Hua Hua replied.

"Then, what do you think of him?" Jin Ling answered.

"I think his actions are justified and shouldn't have been banished once." Hua Hua replied.

Huh. This Hua Hua is something different. Jin Ling thought.

"There are many things in this world that can't simply be explained by likes and dislikes."

"Good night." Hua Hua said, turning his body away.

Seeing that Hua Hua is going to rest, Jin Ling blew out the candle, and laid by Hua Hua. However, Hua Hua was not actually sleeping. He was wide awake. Thinking.

Sometimes, I just want to return. Return back to 5 years ago, back to the Cloud Recesses. Back to when I first met Jin Ling. Even if it's a dream, I'm willing to never wake.

sorry for the short chapter! since the previous one was so long, i decided to make this one slightly shorter to make up for it. so yeah, hua hua is actually sizhui. by the way, this is the end of the present day arc. the rest of the story from this point will be a flashback. enjoy!
