A few moments later, the cultivator woke up. He quickly turned to see Jin Ling smiling at him.
"AHH! MONSTERS!" the cultivator yelled, grabbing onto Jin Ling's white robes.
"Don't be scared. I'm the keeper of this temple." Jin Ling replied, raising his hand up slightly.
Upon seeing that Hua Hua and Jin Ling were friends, not foes, he sighed a big sigh of relief. "Daozhang, thank you for saving me. I thought I might have died."
"Died?" Jin Ling asked. "A standard fierce corpse shouldn't be able to kill you with it's resentful energy."
"Yeah, that's what I thought too. But, I was night hunting yesterday and I saw this fierce corpse in the distance. I tried to attack it with my jian, but it's resentful energy knocked me out somehow. I thought for sure I was going to die." the old cultivator explained.
"Where was it?" Jin Ling asked.
"Just in a mile or two southwest, it's called Puqi Forest." the old cultivator explained.
"Puqi Forest?" Jin Ling said softly.
"Sorry, daozhang, but I have to go." the old cultivator explained. "I still have to go back to my family."
"Huh? Oh, of course." Jin Ling said, leading him out of the temple.
After the man left, Jin Ling closed the door and looked at Hua Hua. Hua Hua looked back, his eyes slightly squinted.
"Hua Hua, let me go outside for a while." Jin Ling explained.
"No worries." Hua Hua replied.
Jin Ling exited the temple and put two fingers to his head, accessing the Spiritual Communication Array. Upon entering the array, he heard that there were a lot of other heavenly cultivators inside.
"Sect Leader Jin?" Ling Wen asked. "What problem do you have?"
"Eh..." Jin Ling said. "Does anyone know which general controls Puqi Forest? I need them to send some heavenly cultivators to help me solve a mystery there."
No one responded, almost as if they were scared to answer. They stayed quiet for quite some time. Seeing that there was no one answering, Jin Ling was starting to leave the array until Ling wen started speaking up.
"Sect Leader Jin, why do you need to know about Puqi Forest?" Ling Wen asked.
"Well, there was an old cultivator who was infected with resentful energy from a powerful fierce corpse. I found that to be strange, so I decided to come here and ask for some more information." Jin Ling explained.
"Ahh... Jin Ling, the person who controls Puqi Forest is General Jingyi." Ling Wen explained.
"What? Jingyi controls Puqi Forest?" Jin Ling said, surprised.
"Yeah." Ling Wen explained.
"Uh... never mind then. I'll work on my own." Jin Ling said, starting to leave the array once more.
"Sorry Ling Wen could not assist you." Ling Wen said, " *那便预祝殿下, 此去一帆风顺, **天官赐福
"**百无禁忌" Jin Ling replied, exiting the array.
*那便预祝殿下, 此去一帆风顺 = Hope everything goes well, your Highness.
**天官赐福, 百无禁忌 = Wish you all the heavenly blessings, may all taboos shatter.
