Jin Ling returned inside the temple, where Hua Hua was waiting silently. Jin Ling silently was silently grabbing some supplies.

"Jin Ling, where are you going?" Hua Hua asked.

"Ah, I'm going to Puqi Forest to investigate the area." Jin Ling replied.

"Oh, that's interesting. Can I come along?" Hua Hua asked.

"Uhh... sure, if you want." Jin Ling replied.

Sect Leader Jin, Sect Leader Jin?  a voice called from inside Jin Ling's head. Someone was communicating with him via the private communication array. Immediately, Jin Ling put two fingers to his head.

Huh? Ling Wen? Is there a problem?  Jin Ling asked telepathically.

Congratulations, Your Highness. Two heavenly cultivators from the *Middle Court have agreed to assist you with your journey. They should have arrived by now.

Really? Wow, I really thought nobody would help me. Thank you, Ling Wen.  Jin Ling replied.

No worries. Good luck with your journey.  Ling Wen replied, leaving the array.

Hua Hua looked at Jin Ling, then smirked slightly, before randomly asking a question. "Sect Leader Jin, who did you just contact in heaven?"

Jin Ling slightly froze, before chuckling softly. "I guess Hua Hua already knew I am the god on the painting."

Hua Hua smiled. Meanwhile, Jin Ling walked to the door and opened it. Two cultivators were standing there, arms crossed.

"You guys are-" Jin Ling asked, before getting cut off by one of the cultivators.

"Feng Li" he answered.

The other soon followed suit. "Yu Lin"

"Ah, thank you for taking your time to come here. Please enter." Jin Ling said, leading them in.

Jin Ling was asked, before drinking a cup of water. "So, which god are you guys serving?"

"Chen Ye Palace." Yu Lin answered.

"Zou Fang Palace." Feng Li answered after.

Jin Ling almost choked on his water. Hua Hua in the background laughed slightly under his breath. "So, your generals sent you to help me?"

"No, both of us were in the communication array when you asked about Puqi Forest. Since our generals have had relations with you in the past and both of us had nothing to do, we decided to do you a favor and come down here to help." Feng Li explained.

Jin Ling was silent. "What?"

Humans who have ascended due to their own capabilities and talents are referred to as part of the Upper Heaven. When Heavenly Officials of the Upper Heaven come to fancy certain mortals due to their potential or simply because they were people close to them in their mortal life, they have the ability to appoint them to the Heavens, making them part of the so called Middle Heaven or Middle Court. Heavenly Officials of the Middle Court are usually referred to as deputy generals or deputy gods and their main duty is to serve the main God of their palace. Should their ruling Heavenly Official be banished, so will they be, although they will not receive a Cursed Shackle and are capable of being reappointed by other Gods without complications. Despite already being part of the Heavenly Court, they still have the ability to ascend on their own and rise in status.
