"This mask?" Jin Ling answered. "I just use it to cover my appearance so people won't recognize me."
"Cool." Hua Hua replied.
"You know, someone actually gave me this mask" Jin Ling said, "Ever since my first banishment after the fall of the Jin Sect, I've been harassed by both mortals and heavenly cultivators. One day, a young boy came to me with this mask on, telling me that he wanted to protect me. At first, I laughed it off. No way was some kid is just gonna protect me for no reason? Boy was I wrong! Haha, he really did protect me and help me. Then, all of a sudden, he left for good. He really was a good kid. I wish I could meet him again. I just don't know where he is now, how he's doing, if he's dead or alive."
Hua Hua suddenly lost his smile. He stared at the ground, silently. "What would you do if you could meet him again?"
"Mn.... probably say hi, and get caught up with how he's been doing. Oh yeah, he told me that he was a rising ghost. I hope he becomes a powerful ghost, like Crimson Rain Sought Flower!" Jin Ling said, smiling.
"Agreed." Hua Hua replied, regaining his smile.
"Are you guys done yet? We're about to enter where that old guy was attacked by the ghost." Yu Lin said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know." Jin Ling replied, "Hua Hua, when the fierce corpse comes, be sure to stay behind me, okay?"
"Sure." Hua Hua replied.
The four continued walking again and again. After a while, they reached the exact point at which the fierce corpse attacked. By this time, night had already approached. Jin Ling, Hua Hua, Yu Lin, and Feng Li stood there for quite a while.
"God damn it, is there even ANY fierce corpses here?" Feng Li said, getting irritated.
"Well, I do have a tool that we can use." Jin Ling said, pulling something out of his sleeve. He pulled out a golden yellow compass, and passed it to Feng Li. It was the *Compass of Evil.
"Perfect." Feng Li commented, taking it.
Feng Li calibrated it with some spiritual energy, before seeing to see where the compass would point. The needle spun around about 5 times, before pointed right behind them. Immediately, all of them turned around to see a fierce corpse running towards them. It had black resentful energy flowing around it. Jin Ling suddenly moved his right arm forward. A long white silk band flew out.
"Sizhui, go!" Jin Ling yelled.
Hua Hua's pupils suddenly shrinked.
