Chapter 13

The next morning, I wake up with a weight on my arm and realize it's Louis. "Hey buddy, what are you doing in here?" I whisper. "I got scared. Can you go downstairs with me?" he asks. "Of course, sweetie-pie," I say, taking his hand.

I find "Henry Danger" on TV. "What do you want for breakfast?" I ask. "Donuts," he says, and I laugh, reminded of Jaden's mannerisms. I find some donuts in the fridge and make oatmeal for the twins.

Then I hear crying upstairs. I rush up, scoop up both twins, and hurry back downstairs so they don't wake the boys. I give Louis his donuts and sit the twins at the table since Sway doesn't have any baby chairs.

Soon, the twins finish eating, so I dress them and Louis. "Wanna go for a walk with me and the twins?" I ask, and Louis nods. I leave a note for the boys in case they wake up.

Hey Jaden and Chase,

Me, Louis, Liam, and Lilli are going for a walk. We'll be home before your sister comes:)

Riley

I enjoy walking with the kids, pushing the twins in a stroller while Louis walks proudly beside me as the big brother. When we return home, Chase is awake, sitting in the living room watching "Henry Danger." "Chase," Louis says, running up to hug him. "Hey buddy, was it a good walk?" Chase asks. "Yeah," Louis says.

Time skip to when Jaden's sister comes to get the kids

There's a knock on the door. I open it to see the girl from yesterday. "Hi," I say, hugging her. "Where's Jaden?" she asks. "He's still sleeping," I reply, and she laughs. "Thanks for helping," she says. "I'm gonna go wake Jaden up," I say, running upstairs. I throw a pillow at him and jump on the bed. "What?" he asks in his deep morning voice. "Your sister is here," I say. "What's the time?" "Almost 12," I reply. "Shit, do you think I can walk down like this?" he asks, looking at his clothes. "Yeah, it's just your sister, Jaden," I say, laughing.

When we come downstairs again, I see Louis clinging tightly to Chase's leg. "I don't wanna go," he says. "Buddy, you need to. You can come again soon," Chase says, gently prying Louis off. Louis runs over to hug me and Jaden.

"When I grow up, I wanna be like Jaden," Louis says, surprising us all. "How?" his mom asks. "I wanna live the absolute dream life and have friends like Chase and Riley," he says, bringing happy tears to Jaden's eyes. After they leave, Jaden looks at me surprised. "Was it just me who heard that?" he asks, and I laugh. "No, I heard it too. Louis is so cute," I say, giggling. We lie down and chill, and I scroll on TikTok, finding an old video of Jaden that his sister posted.

I keep laughing uncontrollably, and the boys look at me like I'm crazy. "Sorry, you guys need to watch this video," I say, showing them my phone. Jaden hides his face in his hands while Chase and I laugh so hard we can barely breathe.

"I need to go home now, but it's been so nice," I say, hugging both boys. Then I get in Ryland's car and sing One Direction the whole way home.

Time skip to when I arrive home

I rush into Vinnie's arms, giving him a passionate kiss. "Vinnie, now you need to tell the truth, okay?" I say, looking at him. "What?" Vinnie asks. "How do you feel when I'm around other boys?" "Actually, I'm fine. I've known you for so long now that I trust you," he says, kissing my hand. I blush. "Riley, do you wanna go on a date with me tomorrow night?" Vinnie asks. "I would love to, baby," I say, hugging him again.

Then I see Nick opening the freezer. "How many times has he opened the freezer while I was gone?" I ask. "At least 20 times," Vinnie says. I walk over to Nick and take the ice cream from his hand. "Hey, that's mine," he protests, looking at me in a mad way. "I won't let this happen again," I say, taking Nick's hand. I lead him to his car and put on One Direction. "What are you doing?" Nick asks, smiling. "Making you happy again. We're going to Target."

Time skip to when we arrive at Target

I see Fletcher standing outside Target. He spots us and walks over. "Hey Nick and Riley," he greets, recording us. "Hi, Fletcher," Nick says, and I smile. "Congratulations on you and Vinnie," Fletcher says. "Thanks," I say. "So, Nick, how's it going with your love life?" he asks. Nick sighs. "Right now, I don't know," he says. "Okay, well, I hope you guys have a great day," Fletcher says, and we walk into Target. We reminisce about all the memories from our childhood as we browse the aisles.
