as we walk into the mall it's like every memory of Vinnie and i's argument is just gone. i love spending time with my best friends.

Rylands Pov

its been 3 hours since Riley and her friends left

Vinnie finally emerges from his room, headed for the kitchen, and I see my opportunity.

"Hey, Vinnie."

"What?" he replies irritably.

"Jeez, relax. I just want to know what happened between you and Riley."

"I don't know, honestly. It felt like my brain just shut off," he admits.

"Did you mean it when you called her a bitch?"

"No, I would never do that. I promise," he says, almost choking on his water.

"Promise?"

"Ryland Storms, I promise I would never say anything bad about or do anything to hurt your sister, Riley Storms," Vinnie says earnestly.

"Okay."

"But do you think she even wants to talk to me?" he asks nervously.

"I don't know, Vinnie. I really think you hurt her," I reply.

"I messed up," Vinnie mutters before leaving the room again.

As the girls finally return home, it's almost dinner time.

"Hey, Mac, could you go get the boys for dinner?" I ask.

"Of course," she says, dropping her bags.

Back to Riley's POV

As we sit down for dinner, I position myself as far away from Vinnie as possible. Every time he looks at me, I give him a death stare and roll my eyes.

"Guys, can we please try to clear this up?" Kio suggests.

"There's nothing to clear! He called me a bitch, and I know he used me!" I say angrily.

"Why would I use you?" Vinnie retorts.

"Because isn't that how every guy is? You're a playboy, Vincent Hacker. I know that even if we don't break up, you'll break another girl's heart on Monday, tell her you're single, and then I'll just be invisible to you!" I accuse, my voice rising.

"So now it's me who's the problem? It's you who doesn't even try to connect! I just tried to have some fun, and instead, you got mad as always. You're so selfish!" Vinnie snaps.

"Is it me who's selfish? You don't want to hug me, hold hands, or do anything romantic. You just want me to play with your hair!" I argue, my voice rising even further.

"Guys, please, relax," Ryland implores, but we both give him a death stare.

"Come on, Olivia, Nick, and Riley, let's go upstairs and watch a movie," Mac suggests, steering me away before things get physical between Vinnie and me.

"I feel like I should break up with him, but I'm also kind of scared," I confide as we sit on my bed.

"Let's play truth or dare," Olivia suggests.

"Okay, Mac, truth or dare?" I say.

"Truth."

"Alright, what do you like the most about Nick?" I ask.

"He's always kind and sweet, and I love his hair and eyes," she responds.

"Okay, Olivia, truth or dare?" Mac asks.

"Dare," Olivia says.

"Okay, I dare you to go downstairs, kiss Kio on the lips, and then run back upstairs," Mac challenges, and I burst into laughter.

"Okay," Olivia says and dashes downstairs. Mac and I can see the living room from upstairs. Oh, she just kissed him! And now she's sprinting back upstairs. That's my girl.

"OMG, you're so awesome!" I exclaim, giving her a high-five.

We play truth or dare for almost three hours before watching a movie and heading to bed.

Time skip to the next morning

As I wake up, I find myself alone in my room. I grab a hoodie from the floor and slip it on.

When I come downstairs, I notice that the only available seat is next to Vincent. Just great...

"At least you still want to wear my hoodie," Vincent comments, looking at me.

"Wait, this is yours?" I ask, taking it off and tossing it to him.

"Hey, Olivia, Mac, Kio, and Nick, could you please come with me to the living room?" Ryland asks.

Ryland's POV

"We need to get them to stop arguing. I can't stand seeing my sister and one of my best friends like this."

"I might have an idea," Olivia suggests.

"What's that?" I ask.

"Why don't we split ourselves evenly, 50/50? One group takes Vinnie somewhere, and the other group takes Riley to the exact same place. They won't know it's the same place until they're both stuck there until we let them out," she proposes.

"That's the best idea I've ever heard," Kio exclaims.

"Thanks," Olivia says, giggling.
