"Bye, Mac," I say, giving her a warm hug as Vinnie and I stroll home from the beach, our fingers intertwined as we engage in easy conversation.
My phone vibrates, and I notice I've been tagged in a TikTokRoom post. "What's that?" Vinnie inquires, his curiosity piqued. "Something from TikTokRoom; I'll check it out at home," I reply, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
Upon our arrival home, we find ourselves alone, as everyone else is still at the beach. Vinnie sweeps me off my feet, quite literally, carrying me to our room. Pressing me against the wall, he kisses me fervently, leaving a trail of hickeys down my neck.
We eventually find ourselves on the bed, where Vinnie, shirtless, and I exchange affectionate gestures. However, when Vinnie's fingers find the loopholes on my jeans, I halt him with a hesitant whisper.
"Vinnie," I begin, my voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Yeah, baby?" he responds, concern evident in his eyes.
"I don't think I'm ready," I admit, the weight of my words hanging in the air.
"Oh, okay. I'm so sorry, baby," he responds, his tone filled with understanding.
"It's okay. Please don't be sorry. We should get some sleep," I suggest, eager to alleviate the tension.
Next day
I wake up early, taking a refreshing shower and changing into comfortable attire. With an hour left before they leave for school, I join them downstairs.
"Is that a hickey on your neck?" Kio asks as I descend the stairs.
"No, it's just a bruise," I fib, feeling a flush rise to my cheeks.
Vinnie soon joins us, shirtless with messy hair and a noticeable trail of hickeys adorning his skin. I can feel my cheeks reddening further as Ryland's gaze lingers on us.
"Take this on," I say, tossing a hoodie in Vinnie's direction. He blushes even more as he covers himself.
"Can I get an explanation?" Ryland queries, his gaze shifting between Vinnie and me.
"We didn't do anything serious. I wasn't ready," I explain, feeling the embarrassment wash over me.
As the morning progresses, a desire to visit the Hype House ignites within me.
"I'm going to the Hype House," I announce, grabbing Vinnie's keys. "See you later, baby," I say, shooting him a wink. He's skipping class today.
Upon unlocking my phone, I remember the TikTokRoom post I hadn't checked. It's a picture of Nailea and Vinnie from Nailea's story, captioned "husband."
No way. This can't be true. Is Vinnie cheating on me? Tears well up in my eyes, but I quickly brush them away, not wanting to ruin my makeup.
Wait... Did he just use me yesterday? Seriously, almost three months together, and who is this Nailea girl? I quickly search her up on Instagram and am stunned by her beauty.
Oh, shit. Now it all makes sense. This girl is gorgeous, and I'm just a fat rat.
I listen to "Driver's License" on repeat throughout the whole tour. Knocking on the big door, Chase answers.
"Hey, Chase," I say, my voice cracking with emotion.
"What's wrong?" he asks, concern evident in his tone.
"Haven't you seen TikTokRoom?" I inquire, tears streaming down my cheeks.
"Hey, hey, hey, it's okay," Chase reassures me, enveloping me in a comforting hug.
