Song: Gold Rush - Taylor Swift

The days continued on like this. Wake, eat, bus, school, bus, cry, sleep. After time, Annabeth made it to Christmas break. These days, she would sleep most of the day. Though her stepmom didn't like this. Halfway through the first week, she started waking Annabeth up. Not to mention, she decided that every Friday they do a family game night. This idea made Annabeth's Christmas break worse than it was.. At 9:00 every morning, Annabeth woke up to a banging on her door. Making her extra tired.
On the first game night, they played "The Game Of Life". Without realizing it, Annabeth thought the husband she got was Percy. That made her happy. Until she remembered this wouldn't happen. On the second, they played monopoly. This one just made everyone mad at each other. Now we come to the current game night, also the last. The twins picked the game. Instead of a board game, they picked hide and seek. They picked Fredrick as the seeker, as he had the most knowledge of the hiding spots.
Annabeth didn't try, she picked a closet by the door. Whilst waiting, she got lost in her thoughts, only to be taken out by a knock at the door. Quietly, she opened the closet door. She crept to the door. even though she didn't try with the place, she didn't want to be found first. She opened the door. "WHAT THE-" she yelled as she looked at the figure standing before her. "Percy?" She asked as she tried to figure out if this was a trick. "Annabeth?" He asked in a hoarse voice. She quickly grabbed his arm and led him to the couch. "How did you even get here?" She asked, only to realize how hurt he actually was. Scratches and wounds filled every crevasse of his skin. She ran as fast as she could to the bathroom and checked the cabinet. "Annabeth? What's happening?" Her father asked from the outside of the door. "Emergency, move!" She yelled as she ran straight past her father and into the living room. As fast as she could, she fed him ambrosia and nectar. Helen walked into the room, only to gasp at the sight. "Who is this?" She fumed. "Why is there a boy in my living room?" She continued to ask these questions, though Annabeth was too focused on Percy to answer. Annabeth ran into the kitchen, grabbed a cup of water and filled it. Though as she tried to exit, Helen stopped her. "ANNABETH CHASE. YOU WILL ANSWER YOUR MOTHER WHEN SHE ASKS YOU A QUESTION." Helen shouted. "I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WHEN MY BEST FRIEND IS DYING IN THE OTHER ROOM. NOT TO MENTION, YOU'RE NOT MY MOTHER." Annabeth screamed back. Helen froze in shock, Annabeth used this time to bring the water to Percy. "Here, this is the biggest cup we had." Percy shakily grabbed the cup and chugged the whole thing in seconds.
Helen was the maddest she had been in a while. She stomped into the living room, only to see how injured the boy had been. She decided she would wait until he left to scold Annabeth. During helens thinking time, Annabeth managed to nurse him as close to back to health as she could, though some injures would need to be fixed at a mortal doctor. "Dad! Can I put him in the guest room?" Annabeth yelled, only to remember her father had no idea what was happening. "Who?" He asked as he walked into the room, only to be greeted by a familiar face. "Wait, is that the kid who took my car? Also, isn't he the one who died?" Fredrick asked. He had no idea how this kid was even in his room. "Who cares! Just answer the question." Annabeth snapped. "Well with that attitude, I'm gonna say no." Fredrick retorted. "Fine, I'll just leave him here then."
For the rest of the night, Annabeth refused to move from beside him. Even after begging from her parents. To protect a sleeping Percy, she kept her dagger in hand and constantly scanned the room for monsters. Two demigods in one room meant higher chances to be attacked. Then, she felt movement behind her. She abruptly turned around, only to realize the movement was from a now awake Percy. "Annabeth? What's going on?" He asked. "Well, you came here, I helped you with your injuries, only to have multiple screaming matches with my parents, and now you're awake." Annabeth stated. She had no idea what he remembered, so she summed it up for him.
After some time of catching up, they found themselves sitting in a comfortable silence. Annabeth had a new feeling in her stomach. It wasn't anger, sadness, or guilt like she had before. It was like butterflies, they had been fluttering all around inside of her. Before she could stop herself, she scooted closer and leaned her head on his shoulder. Then, she felt an urge to kiss him. As if he could read her thoughts, he gently turned to look at her, as he didn't wanna move her too much. Without thinking, she felt herself closing the gap between them. This time, there was no blood on his lips. They were soft and smooth. It felt like he was the piece missing to her puzzle, their connected lips moved in sync, almost like they knew each other's next move. She knew this moment would be engraved in her brain forever. Though it was before she would've wanted, they broke apart. She sent him a small smile, before getting up and going to her room.
She laid in her bed and stared at the ceiling. She knew she was smiling, and she knew she couldn't stop. She had another urge, "get up and do it again! It's not like anything can stop you!" For once, the voice in her head was right. And another new move, she had listened. She stood up, and walked back into the living room, only to find Percy laying down and looking at the ceiling the same way she was before. He didn't seem to notice her come in, as when she sat beside him, he quickly jolted to look at her. Though as he realized it was her, he calmed. She hugged him, though it wasn't exactly what she came there for, it was good enough for her. But once again, as if he was reading her thoughts, he lifted up her chin gently, and kissed her again. This one was more gentle, as the first was more rushed. Annabeth felt a peace, like the thing she wished for most had been granted. They sat there for a couple seconds, just looking at each other. They were about to kiss for a third time, but Helen walked into the room. "Excuse me? What's going on here?" Helen fumed. "Why do you care?" Annabeth snapped. "What is with this new attitude of yours? Everything was fine until this stupid boy in entered our home!" Helen spoke. "What did you just say?" Annabeth was extremely angry now. She stood up, grabbed Percy's arm, and led him to her room. She quickly shut and locked the door, and sat in her reading chair. They could faintly hear Helen talking to Fredrick about "this new behavior of Annabeth's" As she began ranting to herself. "Why do they always act like this? Why did they have to send me back? I realize now why I left the first time." During this time, she didn't notice Percy come up and hug her. "It's alright, I'm sure we can go back to camp tomorrow. Maybe we could visit my mom, she'd love to see us." He said in an attempt to calm Annabeth down. They just sat like that, comforted by each other's embrace. It felt like everything was perfect, though it was far from that. This was the closest to perfect they could manage.
