Part 2 is here.

A mother and her son were packing their stuff. She knew it wasn't going to be long until someone called the police and they would find her husband's dead body in the living room. That's when she started to hear sirens at the distance. No way in hell would she let anybody take her little boy from her. Not again. Over her dead body.

"Damn."

She grabbed her son's hand alongside her bag and walked to the kitchen where the backdoor was. She could already see the colors blue and red shining through the windows. She kneeled once more to see her son in the eyes.

"Now baby, we have to leave fast. They will do bad things to mommy if we don't. Once we are out, we can't let anybody see us. So don't make any noise and follow mommy, understood?" Hoseok nodded silently to which his mom smiled. "That's my good boy. Now, let's go and remember, don't let anybody see us." Hoseok nodded once again before his mother hugged him. "I love you, Hoseok."

He hugged back. "I love you too, mommy."

Both Hoseok and his mother went out through the backdoor and jumped the fence to the dark street. It was early in the morning so everyone was asleep. Three blocks or so down the street, they heard the police cars come to a stop in front of their house and the loud cracking noise from braking the door open.

They made their way through the dark streets, hiding behind trees and trash bins at the sight of any other person. They finally came to a stop in front of a small house. Hoseok's mother knocked on the door a few times until a light could be seen from the inside.

Footsteps made their way down the stairs and stopped in front of the door. As the door opened, it revealed a tall man and his wife behind him, both in pajamas and expressions that clearly showed a "what the hell are you doing knocking on my door at two in the morning?!"

"Unnie, please, please help us!" Hoseok's mother begged as the couple's face finally changed from annoyance to surprise.

"What are you two doing out so late! Come in, come in. Quick!"

Inside, Hoseok's aunt offered his mother a cup of tea and handed him a juice box that ultimately was left on the coffee table, as she sat next to her husband, opposite to Hoseok and his mother. Hoseok was pretending to be asleep on his mother's lap as she explained the situation to her older sister.

"Please, just let us stay here for tonight. We will be gone by the morning." Hoseok's mother begged.

"Is that even a question? Of course you can stay. I'm so sorry to hear what you and your son had to go through. I told you, I never liked that husband of yours. But you never listened to your older sister." Hoseok could see his aunt pout slightly.

"Stay as long as you need." Her husband said to which Hoseok's mother shook her head.

"No, thank you very much, but tonight will be enough. The police won't take long to come here and search for us. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to you two." Her sister nodded understanding.

"Eomma... appa..." A little girl's voice said from the top of the stairs. Her braids were messy and she held a stuff bear with one hand as she rubbed her eye with the other.
