Meredith slowly opened her eyes. She had absolutely no idea where she was. She knew she wasn't in her own bedroom and she was kind of thankful for that. She didn't want to see her parents this morning, more specifically she didn't want to see her mother. They had fought the day before and she was done. She couldn't believe she still lived with her parents. She was a grown ass doctor for god's sake.

As happy as she was that she wasn't in her parent's house she probably should figure out where she actually was. She sat up to get a better view of her surroundings when she noticed the man next to her. Along with not knowing where she was, she also had no idea who she had... she looked down at her clothe-less body... had sex with last night.

The room she currently was in, well room isn't quite the right word, it was more of a tin can, gave her no clue to where she was in. There were no pictures or personal effects besides some fishing supplies, some drawings of boats, and CRAP! A lot of neuro research books.

The man she slept with was her very married boss.

"hmm Addison?" Derek groaned as he was half waking up.

"Try again." Meredith said, in pain.

"Oh thank god." Derek responded.

"What do you mean 'thank god'"

"I thought I had dreamed breaking it off with Addison and hooking up with a hot resident" Derek said sleepily. He realized that he might've offending the beautiful woman sitting next to him

"I mean I didn't- you aren't- I didn't just hook up with you because you were hot and I ended it with Addison. And I'm not sure what you are thinking but it- doesn't have to be just a hookup."

Meredith laughed. "Then why did you hook up with me? I don't exactly remember hooking up with you. Actually that's a lie. I remember talking with you at the bar, after Yang taught me how to drink tequila. Then this a long break then I remember the-" she giggled and put her hand on his arm. "But I don't exactly remember the reasoning besides the fact that you are the hot attending and I can now that I am done with Alex."

The name Alex bothered him. He knew of the weird cheery man who wore terribly ugly glasses but he didn't know the connection between him and the girl currently smiling at him.

"Alex?"

"Dr. Karev, he's my fiance- ex-fiance"

"Oh... I am sorry to here that." He lied. He wasn't particularly sad that she wasn't going to be marrying him, but he did feel bad that she had been hurt.

"Don't be. He was an asshole and he cheated on me with my bestfriend."

Derek laughed and Meredith stared at him confused.

"Oh I am sorry it's just that, yesterday I found out that my wife has also been cheating on me with my best friend."

"We should make a club." Meredith said playfully.

"I think we already did. And the club activities are... really fun."

Meredith laughed. "Oh god, what time is it. Also where are we, and where is Dr. Montgomery?"

"It's-" Derek looked at his watch, "6:30, this is my trailer I like to hide in. I bought a bunch of land up here to build a house on. I think I am still going to build the house, I guess I was never really building it for me and Addison."

Meredith gazed at him. He was so.... she couldn't find the word.

"I- I think I should probably get going. How did we get here, I am pretty sure neither of us were okay to drive. and would a cab even come her?"

"Evidently they must. I have another car, uhh I can drive you to work if you want."

"I think that's probably my only option"

Meredith and Derek both got dressed, Derek had a spare unused toothbrush that Meredith was very grateful for. Derek also happened to have more hair products than she had ever seen.

They drove in a comfortable silence. They both just, enjoyed each other's presence.

They pulled into the parking lot. Derek got out and ran across the car to open the door for her.

"Wow so... gentlemanly"

Alex, who had been waiting on a bench outside the hospital saw this and immediately ran over to the pair and yelled, "WHAT THE HELL MER! YOU CHEAT ON ME WITH THIS" he looked Derek up and down and continued "MARRIED LOSER!?"

"One, we aren't together anymore and two," she punched him in the face. Alex fell to the ground and Meredith started to shake her hand in pain.

"Meredith! Are you ok?" He grabbed her hand to exam it.

"Yea I am ok" she said quietly

"No. You aren't. I am going to take you inside and clean this up," Derek pulled her towards the hospital and stepped over Alex who happened to still be quivering on the ground.

They sat in an exam room while Derek stitched up her hand.

"So did it feel good, punching him?"

Meredith laughed, "Yea, very satisfyingly."

"I wish I could do that. I mean I am not really that upset that me and Addison are over but I do think it would be fun to punch her. But then I would get arrested. I could probably get away with punching Mark though."

"Yea hitting your wife is generally pretty frowned upon."

Derek looked up at her, "This... conversation probably isn't great for our relationship is it. You probably think I am some monster."

"No I don't. Relationship?"

"Maybe not relationship. Ummm future hookup prospects? Or if you do want a relationship...."

"I think its a little soon for both of us." Meredith said.

Ellis Grey barged into the room, "What the hell happened? You injured your hand? And Shepherd what are you doing sewing her hand, why isn't she in the ER."

Meredith, not caring if Ellis was her mother or her boss, "I punched Alex, and me and Derek slept together so he is helping me."

Derek looked up at her with wide eyes.

"Meredith. You immature weak girl. You are an embarrassment to me, this hospital, and every doctor in here." Ellis snarled.

"She isn't an embarrassment to me. I was kind of jealous she got to punch Alex. And you shouldn't speak to her that way. Meredith is an incredible surgeon and person. A much better person than you could ever be."

Meredith smiled.

"Bye mother."

Ellis walked away infuriated. She was insulted by an employee in her own hospital.

"You are so going to regret that." Meredith said to Derek.

"No, I don't think he will." He grinned at Meredith.
