Derek was standing at the nurses station working on some paperwork. Meredith was walking in the hallway leading up to him, she looked up and saw Derek, smiled, and started to walk towards him. Then a tall skinny neuro fellow with reddish hair walked up to him. Derek said something, she laughed hard, and put her hand on his arm.

Meredith glared at the pair and walked away.

Meredith found Cristina sitting in an empty patients room, looking at some charts and eating an apple.

"What's wrong with you?" Cristina asked

"Nothing. Some neuro chick was all over Derek."

Cristina laughed.

"It's not funny."

"Derek's not going to cheat on you."

"Why not? I mean Addison cheated on him, Alex cheated on my, Torres cheated on Hunt, I cheated on McVet, heck even my parents marriage started with both of them cheating on their spouses."

"Yea but you and Derek are different. You are all hallmark movie love thing. It makes me want to throw up.

"He's not going to cheat on me?"

"Mer..."

"I know I know."

Meredith saw Derek and tried to quickly walk by without him noticing.

"Meredith" Derek exclaimed trying to get her attention.

Meredith obviously heard him but continued to walk without making eye contact. Derek grabbed her arm to stop her from walking.

"Meredith? What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Meredith.'

"Who is that girl who I saw you with at the nurses station earlier today?"

"Dr. Collier?"

"She's pretty don't you think?"

Derek looked a bit confused at her, "I can't say that I have noticed," he responded earnestly.

"You are lying."

"Meredith what is this about."

"She was flirting with you Derek."

"I am sorry but I really just didn't notice."

"So a beautiful, tall, skinny, smart neuro-surgeon flirts with you and you just didn't notice."

"No. I didn't notice Meredith."

"You are lying."

"Meredith! I am not lying to you."

Meredith rolled her eyes, "whatever" and walked away.

"Meredith!" he yelled after her.

"How's it going Dr. Shepherd?" Dr. Hunt asked.

"I'm- a- fine."

"Say it like you mean it" Dr. Hunt chuckled.

"Meredith is being weird."

"Weird how?"

"She is being jealous I think. I told her that I didn't notice other women and that somehow made her angrier."

Dr. Hunt laughed, "Well my wife hasn't made eye contact with me in five days and I have no idea why, so, you are not alone in the not understanding women boat."
