Madeleine and Charles strived as they worked together as parents, and as for their duty as King and Queen. But as husband and wife that was a subject they were both failing in. Charles wanted to try, but when he did Madeleine pushed him way. Though that didn't stop him, he was determined to get his wife back, determine to restore the life in her that was no longer there, and everyone could see that. The two had decided to return to France to celebrate Prince Henri's engagement and to introduce their daughter to their family. They had been their for two weeks putting up an act for their family, but then returning to sleeping separately at night.
Charles woke to the sound of a carriage and his wife's voice outside of his window. He quickly jumped up to see her stepping into a carriage with their daughter in her arms. He gasped, she was trying to leave him, she was going to leave him. His heart shattered as he dropped to the floor as he screamed her name. "Madeleine!" He gasped again. She turned around quickly, directing her attention to his window. In this brief moment they made eye contact, all the pain and suffering could be seen in their eyes. She soon broke eye contact and climbed in the carriage. "Guards, stop her!" He shouted and ran as fast as he could to her.
Madeleine sighed as the guards carefully helped her out of the carriage.
Madeline stood there staring at him, pleading with her eyes for him to let her go. "Charles, I...I can't do this anymore. I can't live like this anymore! It's no good for our sake, our daughters sake, our country. Our.... My love for you is just not enough anymore! It hasn't been since you brought back that farmers girl!" She cries out. She couldn't even look at the man she loved so dearly. "Because I am never just enough for you, not one girl is enough for you. When you were married to Amelie you were sleeping with me. When you married me you started sleeping with the farmers girl. If you can't just chose me Charles then you can't have me or our daughter at all. And you chose her the moment you let her enter your bed. Now goodbye Charles." Madeleine turned back to the carriage with tears pouring down her checks.
Charles quickly grabbed her hand, while dropping to his knees. "I...I know I messed up cupcake, I know I hurt you, but I can't let you go. You are my wife, something I have dreamed of since we were children. I promise to be a better husband, I promise to remain loyal to you and only you for the rest of my days. Because in the end Madeleine Valois you will be the only woman I will ever be madly in love with and to have my heart. So please, please don't leave and please don't give up on me.  If you do I will lose myself and be a walking dead man." He begged and pleaded with her.
They both stood their looking down at each other, before Madeleine kneeled down on her knees and embraced her husband as tightly as she could. "You are a stupid, idiotic man Charles. Very, very stupid. If you ever take another woman to your bed again, I will behead you myself." She stated with truth and forgiveness.
Charles looked up at her with his baby blue eyes. "Does that mean I am forgiven?" Baby Elizabeth let out a soft coo, which caused both parents to laugh. " Yes, yes you are. Elizabeth even agreed." Madeleine stated lovingly.
They both got up off their knees and grabbed their daughter and headed inside. As of now the family had some hope but the queen didn't fully trust her husband.
" I want the farmer girls head." She declared. Charles was taken back but he didn't dare try to challenge his wife. Instead he just simply nodded wrapping his arm around his wife and gave his daughter a kiss on the head. " I love you both so, so much." He whispered into her ear. "And we love you." She whispered back.
Every word was meant to the fullest, from now on they weren't going to leave I love you left unsaid.
"I'm pregnant." Madeleine spoke again as she looked at their six month old.
