another one of the worst reminders to feel happy. it was christmas time and i knew that i would have to be nice to everyone. i sat next to my older sister, ruby, at the kitchen table and she was trying to finish up her winter break homework.

"ruby, could you take any longer?"i asked.

"i'm sorry! why can't you just go to the party on your own?"she asked.

"because, i know there's going to be a lot of people and i don't really like interacting with people all that much,"i replied and she sighed returning to her work.

our parents are away for christmas this year to visit my nana, but wouldn't allow us to come along because of something i did. but while they are having fun, i'm stuck here with ruby.

"okay, i'm done now let's go,"she said and i basically dragged her to the car.

we were invited to this christmas party was being hosted by one of the kids at my school and i thought thought it would be fun to dragged me into this so dragging her to the car was pay back.

once we walked in, everyone was shouting and playing cool games. my anxiety already took over me and my heart was already racing.

"i'll get us some drinks,"ruby said and i nodded, finding a nearby couch and sitting on it while waiting for ruby.

after like 15 minutes i started to wonder where she was since it was already almost a half an hour and she hasn't come back. as i searched for her i accidently bumped into to someone.

"i'm so sorry,"i said and once i look at who it was my heart almost stopped i didn't know who he was but i could say one thing he was a very cute.

"it's okay no worries,"he said and walked away.

i continued to look for ruby and then i found her talking to a guy and he looked very forceful.

"hey! get away from my sister!"i shouted and they turned around to look at me.

"oh? what do we have here?"the boy saidand started making his way towards me. he was about to grab my hand until i punched him in the face without thinking.

"you are going to regret that,"he said and was about to hit me back until i didn't feel any pain to realize that someone was in front of me.

"that's enough now back off the person said and then i looked up to realize that it was the guy i bumped into earlier my heart was beating out of my chest. the boy walked away and the boy that i bumped into helped me up.

"thank you,"i said.

"you're welcome, by the way, what's your name?"the boy asked.

"y/n,"i replied.

"nice to meet you, y/n, i'm reggie,"he said and i smiled.

after the party i continued to tall to reggie and we had really close, so close that i realized i liked him more than a friend.

christmas came around once again and i was finally going to tell him how i felt about him my parents were back of course from their trip.

this year, ruby and i decided to stay home and not really going anywhere. but i was going to ask reggie if he could come over so that way i can tell him how i really feel, it's now or never.

went to open the door to see reggie, letting him in we watched movies and had lots of fun.

"hey reggie, i need to tell you something,"i said and he turned to look at me.

"what is it, y/n?"he asked.

"i'm in love with you and i know you won't really feel the same way,"i said looking down until i felt his finger under my chin to make me look into to chocolate orbs.

he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine.

"i love you too, y/n,"he said and i smiled.
