Mason Adler is a rich boy, too well developed for his own good. His parents being the well settled, striking pair of a lawyer and a doctor, raise the standards when they move to a new block in the higher circles of the Upper East Side, where the hou...

"Raina, I'm here to brief you about this case." His mum sat on the couch across from them as Mason sat beside Raina. She held his hand, seeming terrified for the first time.
"A custody case, Mum?" She looked at her mother beside his own.
"Raina, honey, you are eighteen. This case should be cake with your will."
"You..." She looked at him and then them.
"Raina, he can't take him."
"What's he talking about?" Mrs. Richter's ears perked up.
Her chest started lifting and dropping harshly and she was panicking.
"Stormy." He spoke kindly, cupping both her hands in his, turning her to him, "Trust me. Brick wall." He squeezed her hands. She stared at their hands and then up at him. Her lips parted, trying to catch her breath and she shook her head.
He nodded. She was palpitating so he leaned in and pressed a kiss on her forehead.
Their heads turned to their mothers who were smiling quietly, waiting to hear her out.
"Mum, as you know that dad... trains us for his business with him. How he did Aaron?"
Her mother understood with a blink, though this came off as a regular business talk to his mum. They couldn't tell her everything. It hurt to hide it from her but he had to hide it.
Mrs. Richter nodded.
"After Aaron, he needed a new... chaperon..." She gulped, "He was coming for Gabe."
Mrs. Richter gasped.
"So, I volunteered." She gulped, "If I stay mum, he could take Gabe away." She blinked her tears away.
"Isn't Gabriel Mr. Richter's son?" His mother asked. Mason nodded, "Raina, darling, he has no way to take him away."
"He is a desperate man. He could just..." She gasped, looking around, "He could kidnap him too."
"Restraining order." His mum suggested, "He steps a foot under fifty feet around any of you, he's gone for good."
Raina shook her head in defeat and rubbed her temples.
"That doesn't matter. He could take him away without care of such matters." She gulped, "I do appreciate all of this. Really, I'm so thankful, Mrs. Adler but I can't do this."
"Yes, you can." Her mother spoke firmly, shaking with rage and heartbreak. She walked around and sat on her other side, turning her daughter to her, "that bastard can do whatever he wants but I'll be damned if I trade children. Let him come. It's not your job to protect me and Gabriel. It's my job, to protect you and your brother. So you listen to me Raina Maison Monroe, not Bruce, nor his psycho army can walk through my doors and demand my kids. Not today, not ever. I'm standing baby, help me here. For once, let's fight together instead of each other." She looked at her with some hope in her eyes. Raina dropped her head in the crook of her neck and her shoulders bounced. His mum smirked at the two and Mason chuckled, as Raina tightened her grip around his hand.
