Third Person's POV
Previously, Chris was trapped on Space Colony Ark, but Sonic and Brody rocketed to his rescue. Soon, Eggman ambushed the helpless hedgehog and wolf and gave our heroes the heave-ho. The devious doc issued an ultimatum: if he wasn't made supreme ruler, he'd pulverize the planet. But when Eggman fired up the Eclipse Cannon, he got a blast - from the past. A recording of his grandfather, Professor Robotnik, revealed that he had his own plan to wipe out the world. Can Sonic and Brody save the globe from destruction? Or will Robotnik wreak his revenge? We start in the Space Colony ARK as Rouge is sitting inside a shuttle, speaking to Topaz over radio "Topaz, I'm transmitting my report now. Over" Rouge said on radio "Be careful, Rouge. That space colony is a dangerous place" Topaz said over radio and Rouge feels the ground shake as the ARK descends.
In the Eclipse Cannon, Sonic, Brody, Bolt and Shadow are still fighting. A hole is created in the wall, revealing two Power Rings "You've interfered for the last time!" Shadow said and he and Bolt throw more Chaos Spears at Sonic and Brody, who leap up and grab the rings "Got it!" Sonic and Brody said and they use a ring-powered homing attack on Shadow and Bolt, knocking them to the ground "All right, Shadow and Bolt. What's goin' on here?" Brody asks and Shadow and Bolt sit up "You'll find out" Bolt said and they all feel the room shake too "Sonic and Brody, your time is running out!" Shadow said and he and Bolt flee through the hole in the hall "Wait!" Sonic and Brody said and they turn around to see a timer that reads 00:23:45:00.
Meanwhile at the Computer room, Chris, Tanaka, Knuckles, Ralph, Amy, Turbo and Tails enter the room. Eggman slams his fist on the console "He tricked me! My own grandfather tricked me!" Eggman said and suddenly a door seals away the Chaos Emeralds "The Chaos Emeralds!" Knuckles said and Gerald's message plays on the big screen "The countdown marking my final revenge on this world has begun! In just a few minutes, you will be destroyed. Soon, Space Colony ARK will hurtle through the atmosphere and crash into this planet with devastating force!" Gerald said and only twenty minutes remain. Everyone around the world can see Gerald's message "You have no time to prevent this disaster, and absolutely no hope of survival. Your ruler took my granddaughter Maria from me, so I'm destroying everything you care about. Now you'll feel what I felt when I lost Maria. You will see. You will see. You'll see!" Gerald said "Do you have anything left to say?" A GUN agent asks off camera "No" Gerald said "Aim!" The GUN agent said "Who is that guy? And what does he mean?" Amy asks "That is Professor Gerald Robotnik, He was a scientific genius and my grandfather" Eggman said and Gerald's message repeats "The countdown marking my final revenge on this world has begun!" Gerald said and the space colony shakes again "Hey, it feels like this place is breaking apart!" Knuckles said "It's over for us" Rouge said arriving "What do you mean Rouge?" Ralph asks "I just received a transmission from Earth. This colony is heading towards Earth at tremendous speed. At this rate, we'll crash into Earth" Rouge said "Grandpa, destroying a planet is one thing, but destroying your grandson is another" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody stand at the entrance of the room "What's going on here?!" Sonic and Brody ask "Sonic! Brody!" Chris said "You two are one tough hedgehog and wolf. You're still alive" Eggman said and Sonic and Brody join the others "Come on. Don't be such a quitter, Eggman. Maybe if we work together, we can get out of this mess" Sonic said and as Sonic and Brody look at Gerald's message, Eggman types on a computer "When I hacked into the database on Prison Island, I found my grandfather's diary" Eggman said and hands the computer to Sonic and Brody, and Chris looks over their shoulders and reads along "I don't understand why things turned out this way" Chris reads.
*Flashback*
GUN soldiers are breaking into the lab "Was it a mistake to try and create the ultimate life forms? They're afraid that they won't be able to control the ultimate life forms" Gerald said and he is sitting alone in the lab "I hope my lab colleagues and my beloved grandchild Maria are safe. They reported that ARK was shut down due to an accident. I found Maria's name in the list of victims. I've lost everything" Gerald said and is now in his Prison Island cell "I no longer have anything. I can't think of anything... except revenge. It scares me. What's going through my mind? Somebody stop me!" Gerald said and writes the numbers 00:27:53.
