ADIA
Houston, Texas
Verse One, Chapter FiveSighing Adia dipped deeper into the warm, fluffy bed. Her body wrapped tightly in the covers as she kept her eyes closed content with the feeling she had. That was until she heard heavy breathing to the right side of her. She immediately got stiff and strained her ears to hear what she knew to be a man beside her snoring deeply. Her eyes popped open in shock but she didn't look over afraid of who she might see there with her.
As she was now fully awake she realized that she didn't have on any clothes and her legs were a bit sore along with a sticky substance in between her legs.
"Oh no," She whispered closing her eyes. She was afraid to move in case she woke up the mystery man beside her. There was some familiarity in the way he was breathing but she still couldn't tell who he was. Last night was just a big blur in her mind right now and the headache that she had wasn't helping that.
Adia laid there for what seemed like hours until she decided that it would be better for her to get up and get out while he was still sleeping. Slowly she raised up and quickly looked at the man as a way to rip the bandage off. Her mouth widened when she saw who laid beside her in a deep and noisy sleep.
"What the fuck," She kept her eyes on him as she carefully peeled the cover off of her body and stood up. Looking around the floor she saw their clothes scattered around everywhere. Grabbing her sweats she slid them on while keeping her eyes on the sleeping man. Then she threw on her shirt and shoes, grabbed her duffle bag making sure that the money she made last night was still there, and quickly left without making a sound.
She knew she looked a mess and couldn't imagine what the people in the lobby and hallways thought about her as she quickly passed them. Her having no ride and was too shocked to think straight and call an Uber she walked five blocks to the nearest bus stop and sat there thinking about what could've happened last night to have the man she woke up to in her bed. It was clear that they had sex and just the thought of that made her stomach turn.
Gasping as her phone started to ring loudly she finally looked at it for the first time today seeing that it was Aaliyah who was calling her. Adia felt embarrassed and didn't want to talk to her sister but she knew that they were worried about her so she decided to pick up just as the bus came around the corner.
"H-hey."
"Adia oh my God where the fuck are you?" Aaliyah yelled her voice reeked with panic. "Ma said you just left." With the mention of her mother, some memories from last night came flooding in. She remembered drinking too much at the bar and then somehow ending up in the locker room and then getting slapped by Monroe. The rest was still a blur.
"I'm good Aaliyah don't worry about me," She spoke lowly as the bus was filled with people on their way to work. She hated taking the bus but she didn't have any other ride. It was too packed for her with everyone on top of everyone it just made her uncomfortable especially now.
"The fuck do you mean you good?" Angel yelled through the phone. Groaning she held it away from her ear feeling a pain in her head when her sister yelled. "I told you not to go anywhere with anybody and you did. Ma said she told you not to go too and you still went. Where are you?" Again, with the mention of her mother some vivid memories came rolling back in and this time she remembered her going outside to leave with Monroe but finding that she was gone.
