hat evening, Eva missed dinner to avoid another talk with her sister.

She rested closed in her room for hours, pretending to be busy with potions creation. She had been lying on her bed for a long time, licking her injuries and staring at the ceiling, furious.

She also heard Ava’s steps out of the door, maybe too uncertain if knocking to the door or not. The other sister just made some noises with glass and papers, just like she was really working.

It wasn’t the right moment for arguing.

She came and left many times, until Eva turned light on to let her believe she was asleep.

When she heard her sister’s bedroom door closing, like every night, she carefully went out.
Fresh air was the best decision to clear her mind.
She ran out from the service entrance and slowly approached the Magic Fountain.

What a surprise!

Alice was sitting there, all alone, looking at the water splashed through the air.

Eva hesitated, wondering if she was that dumb, looking for trouble where Royal Guards could arrest her.

Well, much better: she was alone without her stupid gang, the fight would have been equal.

- Hey! - hissed, preparing claws - What are you doing here?

Alice leaped, then looked back at her:
- You forgot something in that yard, today.
- Uh?
The dog took something hidden behind her and threw it to Eva. When it arrived rolling, she understood what it was: the black collar, almost totally destroyed during the scuffle. Pieces of tissue were cut, others totally missed, while pearls were tied only by some strings.

- Did you come here only for this? - huffed the cat, surprised - You could just keep it. I don’t care.
- Me neither. - answered Alice - Next time you start a fight, don’t cheat calling your Royal Guards, princess.

- I didn’t call them! My stupid sister cam and brang them. It’s not my fault. - Eva shrugged - And don’t call me princess.
- Mh? You need some special title, as the Princess’ sister? - Alice made a mischievous smile, then shook her ears effortless.

Eva thought she looked really nice.

- Nah, I don’t. I don’t care about titles, I have nothing to do with them.

They rested a few instants in silence, then started laughing.
Well, that situation was definitely tragi-comic.

Eva walked to the mix-breed dog and sat on her side, ease.
- Heh, I can say that you beat perfectly, despite your Royal precious tail. - commented Alice.
- Hey, shut up. - giggled Eva - My precious tail is better than your group of idiot’s ones.
- Those ones? Ah, they aren’t that bad. All together they don’t build a single neuron, but at least they’re funny.

- What was your problem with that yard? You defended it like your own den.
- Uh, nothing more than what you did. We all looked for pass the time in dumb ways, I guess.
- That’s right.

- Hey, Eva - said Alice - the next time, I’d like to know when I’m beating up a Royal cat.
- Why?
- You know, so I could reserve you the best bites.
- Oh, is that so? - Eva pretended to push her off - If it wasn’t for Guards, I’d doubled your bones up by kicks.
- You should thank them, or I’d eat you. - Alice showed teeth by joke.
- I don’t think so, but I guess we’ll never know, THANKS TO MY STUPID SISTERS! - the siamese cat screamed the last words out loud to the Castle. They weren’t close enough to be heard, especially from the tallest tower windows, but it was quite liberatory.
