- Do it, and the Diamond will kill you, my sisters and I!

The Petbuster turned to Ava.
- What?!

The Princess freed from Eva's paws and slowly stood up. Her legs were trembling and her eyes were teary, but her voice was determined.

- You know about the Fifth Diamond, right? The most powerful one, created by the union of the negative magic of all the four Diamonds. I bet the Secret Keeper told you about it, otherwise how could you know about them and why would you want to get all of them? You're going to evocate it, so the Dimensions won't collide but unite in only one! You'll have a portal at your disposal and you'll be able to submit both our worlds! Isn't this your plan?
The human hesitated. His fingers moved on the trigger, shuddering for the desire of pressing it.

- So? Explain yourself!

- Do you really think that summoning the Fifth Darkness is that easy? Do you at least know something about the Magical Balance and the destructive power of the single diamonds? They will never let you do that because you'll break the Balance between our and your dimensions. If you charge one of them with too much Negative or Positive Energy, they'll risk colliding. This is how the portal is created. What you don't know is that it's too dangerous for both our worlds, so the Diamonds will do anything is possible to stop you from doing it. Including killing.

The human opened his eyes wide after the last word. His hands lowered a little bit, but he didn't let the gun go.

Danny was lying on the bottom of his cage, trembling and whining for fear.
Balloon looked down to him, concerned, but while doing this, she noticed something with the corner of her eyes: one of the hedges behind them was trembling.
She turned to it and Mela, who noticed her movements, followed her sight and saw the exact same thing.
- Who is there? - whispered, sobbing like a child - Run away, are you crazy?!

The Petbuster wasn't paying attention to them, since he was carefully listening to the Princess' words.

Ava continued speaking:
- Right now, the Ocean of Friendship is in a sleeping state inside Danny's body. When they're not tied to their holder, Magic Diamonds enter in a passive behavior that stops them from reacting at anything, including responding to a flux of negative or positive Magical Energy! This is what is stopping it from teleporting away or hitting you. - the princess made a forced sarcastic smile and looked at the Magic Fountain with hopeful sight - You've already brought the Balance on its edge. You're lucky, because when Danny swallowed the Ocean on Friendship he put it to sleep, so it can't notice how much Negative Energy the Pocket Kingdom is charging! But if you take it out and wake it up, it will react and try to stop the danger by killing the responsible. Now, only two things can happen: it will correctly hit you after individuating you as the source of the disaster... or unite with the other diamonds to create only one, more powerful, and blame all together their owners. If it happens, my sisters and I will be dead and you'll lose your golden goose!

The human looked down at the Mastiff, serious. Mela and Balloon immediately turned toward, pretending to not have seen anything.

He moved one finger around the safe of the gunshot, then turned again to the cat: - You're bluffing, aren't you?
- I'm not. - Ava shook her head - Eva, do you confirm?
- I do. - Eva stood up as well - You're playing with fire, human. One thing is sure, if you'll take the diamond off, someone will get killed. It's us or you, it depends who the Diamond will decide to guilt! Try, if you want to. At your own risk.

Balloon turned back once again and, this time, she found two gray and small snouts staring at her from the hedge: one belonged to Doctor Pepita. The hare blinked at her and gave her a questioning look.
"How can I free you?!"
The other one was silver, stripped of a foggy darker color and spotted of white, with blind azure eyes that could only trust her ears and her nose.
It was Ito.
- Grandma! - exclaimed the tabby.
She immediately regretted having made that much noise, because Kayl turned his ears to them.
...but luckily it was only for one instant, because he got back to observing William's injuries like he would have admired some sweets through a shop window.
