"if life were predictable it would cease to be life and be without flavor." your grandmother told you that before she died of cancer when you were 6. you continuously wondered what that meant. your life was always the same, your neighbor was your best friend in the whole world, you had your first kiss at 14, and your first boyfriend at 15. your life was as basic as it came, that was until you met penelope.

you grew up in a small town in massachusetts. your father abused your mother ever since his mother; your grandmother died. during your freshman year in high school, your dad got drunk and your mother wasn't home. she came home to find your naked, bruised body in the living room. She reported it to the police then you both packed your bags and headed for SanFrancisco without ever looking back. your first day there you went straight to the library and ran into the one and only Penelope Garcia eating chips and reading in the corner.

"You know you shouldn't eat chips in a library, especially not cheese doodles while reading." You joked at the girl in the corner.

"Hey I would never let getting my snack on harm books." The unknown girl giggled. You sat down next to her and took the book and bag of potato chips out of your bag.

"Y/F/N, nice to meet ya." You held out your hand.

"OoOoOo very formal I like it. I'm Penelope Garcia, but friends call me Penny or PG." She shook your hand but who knew this would blossom into an amazing friendship.

you and penny ended up at the same school and she was a year older than you. you guys stayed close, having sleepovers, hanging out until curfew, and doing dumb teenage things until the accident. you and penelope were hanging out at a small secret beach sharing a bottle of beer you stole from your house, that was the last time you heard from her.

for the first year you called everyday then the following year you emailed her updating her about your life constantly apologizing because you told yourself that it was your fault she stayed out past curfew which made her parents to drive and look for her. once in your second year of college your bestfriend knew your whole story from the dad to penny and told you not to waste your time, it wasn't your fault. to this day cat is still your bestfriend but you still wear the charm bracelet that penny got for the two of you just to remind you of the amazing time in your life.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
your alarm went off and you groaned as you turned it off. you got out of bed and went straight into the shower. today was the big day, the day you become a profiler for the bau. agent hotchner told you that you were perfect for the job and outshined the other candidates. you were also told that no one else looked into your history besides him which made you relieved to say the least because you will have to look like an agent not a victim.

you got out of the shower and wrapped yourself in a towel. you started to pick out your clothes when your phone chimed.

cat: hello ms fbi profiler
