your phone buzzed repeatedly, amelias contact showing up on the screen.

"hello?"

"you should go to a meeting. i know you haven't been to one in a while but it will help you."

"yeah i was actually just in my way to one."

"good, good. well that's all i wanted to tell you. stay safe, bye."

"bye."

you hung up and went down to your car. you had searched up meetings prior to amelias call so you went to one of them close by.

after leaving the NA meeting you got called in for a case. 

"ok my people, kentucky is calling for your help. there has been a string of robbery, murders in various stores, all hostages didn't make it out." garcia went on about the details of the case.

"this unsub is clearly a male. the murders are violent and there is serious overkill. my main concern is that he is going to strike for something bigger. he started off with a small corner store with only 1 worker and 1 customer, then his last thing was in a restaurant." you pointed out, without looking up from your file.

"i agree, wheels up in 20." hotch said before gathering his things and leaving.

everyone did the same as hotch and left. you went to your desk along with everyone else to finish up on last-minute things when the one and only erin strauss came up to you. erin and you have bad blood because before you were in the bau, you were on an undercover mission and she got drunk and got your partner killed and almost you. you still held a grudge because she was your boss and she should have been behaving appropriately.

"y/n, i'm glad to see you settling in nicely here." she said with her smile. ugh, fake. 

"erin, im glad to see that you still have that mask on. now i just have to ask. does it ever get hot having that mask on all day?" you asked, venom lacing your voice.

"that is no way to speak to your boss." she said. taken back from how you are speaking to her in front of the rest of the team.

"or what? you'll trash my mission again and get my partner killed? you'll put my life in more danger than it already was?" you told her. she pulled you up to the conference room away from the team so you guys could have a private conversation.

"i know you are mad at me-" she started but you cut her off.

"mad? im am not mad i am furious." you yelled at her. "my partner --best friend-- got killed on the job --not because she wasn't doing her job properly-- because you couldn't put the bottle down. i had to go to tell her husband and two kids that their mother died. so no, i am not going to treat you with an ounce of respect." you yelled at her then stormed out of the conference room.

you walked back over to your desk like nothing happened, ignoring everyone's stares. everyone started leaving the bullpen but derek pulled you aside.
