Jay had been waiting for Audrey to arrive at their date when he spied the most terrible sight that he had seen for quite some time. Unfortunately, the sight was strongly associated with his darling girlfriend in that she was wearing the worst monstrosity he had ever laid two eyes upon.

"Oh, wow, where did you get that?" Jay questioned as he gaped at the outfit, unable to keep the horror from his voice completely as the words fell out of his mouth in shock. It was positively the most horrifyingly ugly dress he had ever seen. It had bright yellow sunflowers that looked as if they had been sloppily photoshopped on the material along with an overall paler yellow color to the dress behind the sunflowers. The thing was overall the gaudiest outfit that Jay had ever laid his eyes upon.

"I got it from a designer store. Don't you like it?" Audrey questioned worriedly, and Jay laughed a little, shrugging as he gestured toward it.

"It's very... original!" Jay spoke, hoping that his words would suffice as good enough encouragement. Audrey furrowed her brow, immediately catching on, and Jay mentally cursed how well she knew him.

"You don't like it."

"No, that's not it! It's just different!" Jay defended himself, and Audrey sighed through her nose in irritation.

However, before she could say anything else, Uma suddenly appeared out of nowhere and gasped loudly.

"Good grief, did you roll in Farmer Bill's sunflower field or something?!" Uma cried, and Audrey groaned as she glared at her best friend. Jay almost laughed in reply to Uma's comment, but he swiftly brought a hand up and covered his mouth in an attempt to keep it from escaping.

"Oh, shut up, Uma! Jay likes it well enough," Audrey pointed out, and Uma quirked an eyebrow sassily at him and Audrey gazed at him expectantly. Jay held his hands up in a placating gesture.

"It's unique!" Jay pointed out, trying to say the best thing that he could in the situation.

"Uh-huh... Look who's been domesticated. I never thought I'd see the day that Jay the son of Jafar would cower down and bend over backwards for an Auradonian princess," Uma commented, clicking her tongue in disapproval.

"He's not domesticated! What's that even supposed to mean?!"

"It means that dress is butt-ugly and he's just trying to be nice," Uma replied to her with a dismissive gesture.

"It is not!"

"Fine, don't believe me," Uma spoke flippantly, and almost out of thin air, Evie, Mal, and Jane quickly approached.

"Oh, my gosh, Audrey!!! I didn't know that you didn't have anything to wear for your date! I could've made you something!" Evie cried out in surprise as she reached out for Audrey's shoulder. Audrey batted her hand away.

"Gee, thanks, Evie," Audrey sarcastically noted, and Evie looked at Mal longingly, the need to make a dress prevalent in her eyes as she gazed at her sister.

"See? Even Evie gets it," Uma commented, and Audrey growled under her breath, looking to the pirate in irritation. Jay raised an eyebrow a little, knowing that the other girls had definitely gone and poked the bear.

"Go away!!! This is my date! Who invited you guys?!" Audrey pouted and Jay couldn't help but notice how ridiculously adorable she was even with her terrible dress. Her bottom lip protruding ever so slightly truly was quite cute, and he found himself desperately wanting to feel it with his own lips.

"Nobody invited us. We just got a call from the fashion police that said we had a real emergency," Uma replied with a smirk, and Audrey narrowed her eyes. Evie sighed deeply, rolling her eyes fondly at the pirate.

"Come on, you guys. Let's allow the two lovebirds some privacy," Evie directed them away from the scene, and they all slowly moved with her ushering gestures. However, before they had totally left, Evie turned her head toward them and mouthed "call me later."

Audrey rolled her eyes grumpily before suddenly looking quite sad. Jay furrowed his brow, tilting his head a little as he gazed at her.

"Do you really think I'm ugly?"

"What?! No, you're not ugly!" Jay immediately assured her, sitting up straighter and uncrossing his legs so that he could lean forward.

"You don't like my dress," Audrey told him, and Jay shook his head, moving his chair so that he was sitting closer to Audrey and so that he could reach out to her in the magnitude that he wanted.

"I think you're gorgeous no matter what you wear," Jay expressed, and Audrey looked at him skeptically. Jay shook his head, bringing up a hand and touching the side of her face. Audrey leaned into his touch, and a small smile just barely pulled at his lips.

"Look, Foxy... The only reason that I didn't like your dress is because... Well, it just doesn't look like you," Jay admitted, and Audrey looked down for a long moment. He watched her carefully, having a feeling that she was about to say something.

"The reason I wore yellow is because I wanted to match you. I always tried to wear at least something in my outfit that matched Ben when we dated and I just... I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I guess I feel like when we match, it shows that we belong to each other," Audrey confessed, immediately blushing ridiculously after she had finished the statement. Jay looked at her strangely but ultimately just smiled. She refused to look at him, however, so she did not see the change in his face.

"Audrey, that's honestly adorable," Jay commented, and Audrey looked up at him quickly, flushing even more if it was humanly possible. Jay just kept smiling at her, and Audrey hesitantly smiled barely in return.

"Just so you know, we don't have to match. I'll always be yours for as long as you'll have me. But the clothes thing... Even though I never would have thought of it, I honestly love it. Maybe you could try out some leather jackets, though? We'll match material-wise, and you won't have to give up that pink color that you love so much," Jay explained, and Audrey grinned ridiculously widely at the thought of it. She leaned in and kissed him softly, their lips melting together before she pulled away.

"I'd like that."
