Your POV
You made it through your first class with Mr. Lancer fine, but struggled a bit finding your second class until Danny quietly asked you if you needed any help. You could already tell Danny was nothing like the jerk you met this morning. Danny seemed sweet and kind. You graciously accepted his help and he managed to properly introduce himself to you without too much stuttering on the way to your next class. It seemed like you had the same schedule as Danny did in the morning, so you let him lead you around and show you the classes you needed to find.
"I'm sorry about Dash this morning" said Danny quietly.
"It's fine" you shrugged "it's not like I haven't dealt with trash like him before. And besides, it wasn't you who was a jerk. He was the one calling someone Fenturd or something." You glanced over and saw Danny sigh. "Were you the one he was talking about?" You asked.
"Yeah." He grimaced. "My last name is Fenton so that's where he gets that name from." Then he shot you a small smile. "As long as you aren't going to be like that, I'm sure we're going to get along just fine." You laughed and pushed him lightly with your shoulder as you walked towards the cafeteria. Danny Fenton was turning out to be the best part of your day. Until you got to the door of the cafeteria. You patted your hoodie pocket and groaned.
"I'm sorry. I have to go back to the class. I think I dropped my phone there." You turned to him and he shot you a thumbs up before you started in the other direction. You went into the class and found your phone where you left it, undisturbed. You checked your messages on your way back to the cafeteria and found one from your mom.
Mom- Hope you're having a great day!
Y/n- Actually it's turning out better than I thought it would.I guess you jinxed it. Before you could reach the door of the cafeteria a group of panicking kids ran out and barrelled past you, almost knocking you over. You pushed your way through the stream of kids and into the cafeteria. "What's going on?" You thought. When you finally reached the cafeteria, Danny, Sam and Tucker were the last ones coming through. They caught you on their way out and Danny's eyes went wide.
"You three have to get out of here." He said tightly. Sam and Tucker grabbed you and the four of you ran toward the group of kids by the exit. Pushing your way through the crowd you lost sight of Danny and Sam but Tucker stayed with you.
"Where's Danny and Sam?"you yellows over the noise of the crowd. Tucker glanced around and looked at you with an odd look in his eyes.
"They must have gotten lost in the crowd or gone to a different exit." He yelled back. He tried to seem calm but you could hear a note of hesitation in his voice
"What's going on?" You asked
"It's just another ghost attack. It happens all the time, you'll get used to it" he said waving his hand in a "it's fine" gesture. You stared at him, mouth agape. Ghost attack? So is that what you saw on your first day in town? A million questions streamed through your head at once, but you couldn't find the words to ask him, so you continued to move along with the packed crowd of kids until you got outside. Tucker lead you over to a quieter spot in the yard where you had to wait until the ghost attack was cleared. Tucker leaned up against a tree with his arms crossed and you noticed he was tapping his foot nervously.
"So how do we know when the ghost attack is cleared?" You questioned, curious. Tucker hesitated before choosing his answer.
"Usually some ghost kid shows up and beats the other ghost but he always disappears before anyone can say anything. After that life goes on as normal. It's nothing to worry about though. It happens a lot" he admitted. You ran your hands through your ponytail as you thought about what you saw on the day you moved here. A boy, fighting another monster, who had white hair and neon green eyes.
"Was he by any chance wearing a black suit and has snow-white hair with glowing green eyes?" You asked softly. Tucker looked at you with wide eyes. You looked back at him and saw him start to fidget around.
"You've seen him?"
"Yeah. On the day I got here. He was fighting some big robot looking thing just by my new house" you said. "Who is he?"
"No one knows" Tucker answered quickly. "Apparently he goes by Danny Phantom. All the town knows is that he's saved us more times than we can-..."
"Tucker! Y/n!" you heard someone call from behind you. "Are you guys okay?" You turned around to see a pink faced Danny running towards you followed by a huffing Sam not far behind.
"Yeah" you both answered at once. He looked at Tucker and cleared his throat. Tucker seemed to get the hint and stood up from the tree. Sam stayed behind as Danny smiled meekly at you before grabbing Tucker roughly by the wrist and walking off to talk in private. As you watched them leave, you wondered what that was about but then remembered that these three were best friends. They probably shared everything with each other. Your face must have dropped at the thought because Sam looked at you, her eyes concerned.
"Are you alright?" She asked "did the ghost hurt you or anything?"
"No, no" you answered before putting back on a convincing smile and looking at her. "I'm fine. Just kind of shaken by that whole ghost thing. You do know that doesn't just happen anywhere else right?" You told her. She laughed but you could still see her watching you closely.
"Yeah we know" she laughed "but at least we're unique you know? Normal is boring." You nodded in agreement. "You'll get used to it eventually. It's definitely not something you're used to after only one attack." You nodded and looked back at Danny and Tucker, still lost in conversation. Sam looked that way too and you decided to ask her.
"You guys are really close, aren't you?" Sam looked back at you and gave a small genuine smile at the boys.
"Yes. We are. Sometimes it feels like they are the only ones I have in life who are there for me." She said softly. Then she looked at you deeply. "And maybe one day you will be too." You smiled and went back to watching the boys.
"Maybe one day"
