Danny's POV

The next time he woke up, he felt much better. His chest was still sore but not as bad as it was. Danny looked around for Y/n but didn't see her anywhere. Staying still for a moment, he didn't hear her either. He glanced over at the clock and groaned. It was 9:05. He was late for school. Again. He pushed down the blanket and ever so slowly sat up. He took a deep breath before trying to stand. He almost fell but grabbed onto Y/n's desk before he fell. He steadied himself then attempted to put back on the top half of his suit without making his chest hurt too much. After a while he stood fully, gently stretching his arms and legs before rubbing the wrapped wound on his chest. She did a good job.

"Her mom is a nurse you idiot," he thought to himself. He looked around and decided he didn't want to be any more late than necessary so he turned intangible and left Y/n's house. He knew he would have to thank her for helping him, but he couldn't exactly do that at school or she would figure out who he was. He was surprised he stayed in his ghost form the entire time he was passed out. Making it to the school wasn't hard, finding a place to turn human wasn't as easy. He turned invisible and entered into the school, then flew into a janitors closet before dropping his transformation. Poking his head out of the closet to check the hall, he ran to his locker to get his stuff then ran as fast as he could without hurting his chest towards Lancers class.

He entered and Lancer did nothing but raise an eyebrow and gesture to his seat. He noticed Y/n already there and he also noticed her staring at him. He felt himself blush as he slid into his seat. All through class he could feel her eyes on him, and that made him sort of nervous. "I didn't drop my transformation," he thought, "so why is she looking at me like that?"

Danny managed to make it through his morning classes and other than feeling Y/n burn holes into the back of his head, everything went fine. He walked over to his locker when the bell rang for lunch and felt his chest throb only slightly. Y/n would never know how appreciative he was for helping him. He smiled thinking about her.

And then he closed his locker. And was practically tackled from behind with a hug. His eyes went wide and he stood still, holding his hands protectively over his chest to make sure he didn't hurt it even more. Then he heard a muffled voice behind him as the person talked into his shirt. He turned his head slightly and saw who was hugging him. He smiled. Then the person let go and he turned to face them.

"Danny I am so so so sorry," Y/n said so fast the words strung together. "I was being a jerk and selfish and I know you were sorry but I was so upset and-...." he cut her off by giving her a proper hug, still being careful about his chest. He may have been dreaming but he thought she also avoided his chest as if she knew. He smiled and felt her smile into his shoulder. He let her go but held her by the shoulders.

"No. I'm sorry. I know that I have let you down more than once and I understand why you were upset," he said. Her cheeks turned lightly pink and she looked down. He strung his arm over her shoulder and they started walking slowly towards the cafeteria together, both smiling like crazy. "So how was your weekend?" He asked. She hesitated before answering.

"It wasn't great," she admitted. "I spent most of the weekend upset."

"And how was Monday?" He casually asked, even though he was internally panicking a bit. He glanced at her and saw her turn red then look down.

"It was fine. Nothing happened. It was really boring actually," she said quickly. He looked at her suspiciously but she just smiled at him. "I'm really glad we're talking again," she said. Danny smiled too.

"So am I." "Even though we talked all of Monday." He thought to himself. They entered the cafeteria together and went over to Sam and Tucker. They both smiled as Danny and Y/n approached.
