Your POV

You had the weirdest dreams while you were passed out. Just dreams of you falling through space, alone. But one in particular you remembered. You had powers of some sort. You were fighting someone. Phantom was there. The dream just seemed so realistic. But now you fought hard to wake up. You had a monster of a headache that was keeping you from sleeping deeply.

As you woke up you heard sniffling coming from somewhere to your left. You fell back asleep, even though you tried hard not to.

The next time you woke up, your eyelids felt heavy, but you managed to open them. Groaning a bit, you brought a hand up to massage your sore head. You no longer heard the sniffling in your room. "Wait a minute-..." you weren't in your room. This room was too white to be yours. You looked around, taking in your surroundings. There was an IV stuck in your right hand, and you were covered by crisp white sheets. "Gross," you thought. "I hate hospitals." You blinked, adjusting to the semi dark room. Turning your head you smiled at what you saw. The ghost man was wrong. Danny did come for you.

Danny was sleeping in a chair beside you, still in his ghost form. You sat there and took him in. He looked terrible, his eyes puffy and red, his normally puffy white hair wild and unruly. Yet he was still adorable. You just watched him rest for a bit until your eyes started to feel heavy again. You noticed his hand was on the edge of your bed as the chair was pulled as close to you as it could get. Smiling, you gently placed your hand overtop his, not wanting to wake him up, and the relief of sleep came quickly.

If you had only looked in the mirror, you would've seen your eyes flash green and a strip of your hair turn white before turning back to normal.

Danny's POV

Once he got Y/n to the hospital, the doctors started an IV and checked her over. Danny stayed with her the entire time, afraid to leave.

"She should be fine Mr. Phantom," said the one doctor. "We'll keep her here overnight and maybe tomorrow for observation but then she should be good to go." Danny nodded. No one questioned why he was there, they just worked around him

"Right. Thank you doctor," he said. The doctor nodded then left the room, the door clicking gently shut behind him. Danny walked slowly over to her sleeping form and looked at her, just watching her breathe. Then he felt himself break. He started to softly sob and grabbed her hand, holding it with both hands. He sat in the chair next to her bed and wept.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you.  This is all my fault." He said quietly. He just sat there for a long time, watching her sleep and rubbing her hand absentmindedly with his thumb. His tears wouldn't stop falling and he only let go of her hand when the nurses came in to change her IV and check her vitals. She looked so small and fragile under the thin hospital sheet.

Then looking at the clock, he saw it was around 2 am. He sighed and leaned back in the chair never taking his eyes off her for a second. His adrenaline had started to wear off about an hour ago and he was dead tired. But he fought to stay awake anyhow. He felt like if he closed his eyes, when he opened them again she would be gone. But he couldn't stay awake much longer. He turned human for just a second to grab his phone from his pocket and saw a text from Sam.

Sam- sorry Danny, we have to come see her tomorrow. The hospital wouldn't let us in after visiting hours

Danny- it's alright. She's stable but still sleeping
