Your POV

Danny walked into class late and you knew that was half the confirmation you needed. You just needed to find out if his stomach was injured. He walked to his seat next to you and you stared at him. He glanced at you once and slid a bit down in his chair. It was hard to pay attention for the rest of class but you managed to do it while also staring at Danny pretty much the entire time. It was the same for your next two classes. You struggled to pay attention, and couldn't wait for lunch to come so you could talk to him.

He disappeared when the bell rang for lunch and you went to look for him. He was at his locker, obviously, so you went the long way around so you could sneak up on him from behind. That way he wouldn't see you coming and you could avoid his wound on his abdomen. "If he even has one," you tried to convince yourself.

As you came up behind him he was just shutting his locker and turning his back to you. "Yes," you thought. You jogged quietly down the hall and threw your arms around his shoulders, burrowing your face in his back. You could feel him tense underneath you. You tried to talk but you couldn't do that with your face in his back. You felt him turn his head slightly to see who it was. Then he relaxed, and you released him from your bear hug.

"Danny I am so so so sorry," you quickly said. "I was being a jerk and selfish and I know you were sorry but I was so upset and-..." Danny suddenly cut you off by giving you another hug. You turned slightly, remembering to avoid his chest, but smiled widely into his shoulder. You felt him smile too. He let you go but kept a hold on your shoulders.

"No. I'm sorry. I know that I have let you down more than once and I understand why you were upset," he said seriously looking directly into your eyes. You felt yourself blush and you looked down. He reached his arm over you shoulder and pulled you in so you were walking together. You smiled, so happy that you were talking again. "So how was your weekend?" He asked. You decided to be honest.

"It wasn't great. I spent most of the weekend upset," you answered. He nodded and looked around.

"And how was Monday?" He asked. You froze. Wait a minute. He-... what? You could see something in his eyes. A sort of knowing, so you said the first thing that came to mind.

"It was fine. Nothing happened. It was really boring actually," you answered quickly. "Ugh nice going. That wasn't suspicious at all," you mentally yelled at yourself. He looked over at you suspiciously and you just smiled instead. "I'm really glad we're talking again." Danny just gave you a smile in return.

"So am I," he replied. You walked into the cafeteria together and spotted Sam and Tucker already seated at your normal spot. They waved and you and Danny went over. Sam spoke first.

"I assume everything is okay between you two again?" You an Danny looked at each other.

"Yeah," you both said. Sam smiled and Tucker and her high fived, and you all started talking. You soon noticed Danny was quieter than normal and you looked at him. He had his eyes on you and a small smile. When you caught him looking he blushed and quickly looked down.

"I think we should all go and see a movie this weekend," suggested Tucker. Sam and you nodded.

"There's a new horror one coming out that's supposed to be pretty good," said Sam. "What do you think Danny?"

"Hmm?" He said looking up. You all stared at him. "What?" He asked.

"We were wondering if we should all go to the movies together this weekend," said Tucker again. Danny nodded and then looked directly at you.

"And I promise that I'll show up this time. Unless I'm dying, I promise I will come." You stopped and felt yourself pale. You felt sick. Danny mentioning dying brought you back to asking Phantom if he was half dead. But Phantom was Danny. So that means-...

"Let's not talk about dying quite yet shall we?" You said quickly. Danny looked at you with an odd look. You went back to conversation with Sam and Tucker but the thought still ran around your head for the rest of lunch.

Once the bell rang, you and Danny headed towards his locker. On your way there, you noticed Danny spot something up ahead, wince, then bring his hand up to cover his chest protectively. You looked where he was looking. Dash was headed towards you. You looked between Dash and Danny then stepped between them as Danny opened his locker. Dash smirked when he saw her.

"Aww that's cute. Now your girlfriend has to stick up for you," he said. You crossed your arms.

"Jealous," you shot back. Dash's face went red with anger and you heard Danny try not to laugh. You stayed out until Danny had closed his locker and turned around, then you stepped back beside him. Dash went to take a step towards you, his face still red, but this time Danny was the one to step in front of you.

"Back off," he said to Dash. And obviously Dash didn't like that too much. He took a swing at Danny's stomach and Danny cried out in pain. Your eyes went wide as you knelt down, your hand hovering over his chest and stomach. "It shouldn't have hurt that bad. Why did it hurt that bad. Oh my god. He's-..." that was all the confirmation you needed. He was Danny Phantom.

Your anger overtook you and you stood up and stepped towards Dash. You brought your hand up fast and slapped him, really hard across the cheek. Staring Dash down, he brought his hand up to his face in shock.

"Get out of here," you practically snarled. He opened his mouth as if to say something, and that was the last straw. Before he could react you had brought your knee up to connect directly with his diaphragm, knocking the wind out of him. He doubled over and you glared at him. "Are you going to leave now? Or do I have to get Sam over here too?" You said lowering your voice. Dash shook his head and retreated, holding his stomach. You watched him leave until a sharp pained laugh brought you back to reality.

Your eyes went wide and you spun back around to face Danny, still curled up on the floor, yet laughing at what you had just done. "Oh my god. Danny!" You said before kneeling back down to him. "Are you okay?" You helped him sit up against the lockers and he groaned.

"Sure," he gasped out. "I just need a minute," he said before closing his eyes. You started biting your lip, a nervous habit, and you watched him regain himself.

"Can you walk?" You asked. He took a deep breath in then nodded.

"I think so." So you helped him struggle to his feet, steadying him a couple times before he fell. He stood fully. He was only a couple inches taller than you, but he was still taller, so you wrapped his arm around your shoulder to steady himself, then put your hand on his side, careful to avoid his wound. The whole time you were walking, you thought about what just happened, and what you just figured out.

"Danny is Phantom."
