Shattered is my soul.
Pieces of me lost in time.
Forgotten memories that can't be remade.
Shattered is my heart.
If only time had a button I could rewind.
Drowning in the darkest pits of my mind, lost in that never ending cascade.
Shattered is my mind.
Shadows folding over my eyes, and rendering me blind.
Is it my turn to walk with the Black Parade?
Shattered...
So wont someone lend me some glue.
Because these pieces won't pick up themselves...
And frankly, I'm tired of waiting for you.
You who once promised me the world.
You who once promised me endless joy.
You who once promised me the sky.
You who once promised me a smile.
I'll pick up these pieces and put them together.
You'll see me stronger, better than ever.
I won't back down, I won't cave in.
I don't need you to win.
If a shattered bone grows back ten times stronger.
You better believe I'll be here ten times longer.
For I have ancestors in my blood, and we don't give up so easily.
So get out of my head, you won't take me, not peacefully.
Shattered.
Every piece you see of me, shimmering brighter than the last.
I'm here to let you know that I'm going to kick this darkness in the ass.
Shatter me.
Break me.
Tear me down to nothing.
I'm going to stand right back up and show you I'm fucking worth something.

Collections of The Soul
PoesieA series of poem collections I've written over the years. Writing has always been a form of coping for me, so some of these have trigger warnings.
