Chapter 22- in the silence

I was laying next to a very cute sleeping Grayson. We decided to stay at their place tonight after we spent the whole day hanging out with Ethan and Kris.

I couldn't fall asleep for some reason, thoughts of Kyle were crossing my mind. He looked so broken, the whole Kayla thing, the being mean thing it was all for show. He was hurting because of me.

All the moments I shared with Gray during my relationship with Kyle were crossing my mind. We spent so much time together, we hugged, we cuddled watching movies, we would go out just the two of us to try out restaurants and we even went on a trip once. But I never had intentions with him, sometimes we would have moments that mad me blush but they felt so innocent. Then why did I feel so guilty?

My anxiety was through the roof as I wondered if Kyle was alright. I wanted to check on him so bad. Not out of interest for him, we're not a good couple but I still cared for him. Ethan had his car so he couldn't drive around but what if he still went out and got hurt?

Grayson was snoring loudly aswell which didn't help, I decided to record him and kinda wished I could post it, but I wasn't even using my social media at all. Last time I looked, when we were in Hawaii, it seemed very chaotic and negative.

I got up to get some water and decided to stay in the living room so I could be on my phone without waking Grayson up. It was 2 am and I was no where near getting sleepy. Kyle's car keys were sitting in the coffee table and I was feeling tempted.

I put on Ethan's sweatshirt he had left in the living room, so I didn't go to Gray's room and risk waking him up.

I was about to leave the house
"(Y/n)?!" I jumped back startled and got a neck cramp

"Ow my neck!" I scream-whispered
"Kris wtf you almost gave me a heart attack!" She was laughing her ass off at me

"Sorry! But where are you going?" She asked still laughing

"Shhh be quiet I don't want to wake them up!" She covered her mouth still smiling "I'm going to Kyle's house, I need to make sure he's fine and don't you even think about stopping me" I pointed a finger at her

"Oh I would never" she mocked "but don't you even think about going by yourself... Cause I'm coming too!" She gave me a big smile

"Kris I'll be fine" she interrupted

"Yeah I know, I'll be there to make sure of it!" I rolled my eyes "plus we need some time alone for some girl talk so this is perfect! We can even pick up some milkshakes from that place that's open at all hours!" She was so excited

"Fine, let's just go before they wake up..." I gave up and she clapped silently, she was always so cheerful

We got in the car giggling at our escapade and once we were on our way we talked about everything going on. I told her how guilty I felt and she reassured me but understood where I was coming from

Kyle's house was close so we got there fast "I'll stay outside his apartment so you two can have some privacy but if anything happens I'm there uk" she told me

"Thanks kris" I hugged her and then I used my keys to Kyle's apartment to get in "it's payback I guess" I told kris and she laughed

"Kyle?" I whispered once I got in. He was in his living room sitting on the couch, his shirtless tattooed body stood out to me.

"(Y/n) what are you doing here, is everything alright?" He sounded like himself again, his voice was calm

"Yeah I just wanted to check on you Kyle" he seemed surprised

"I'm so sorry about what happened, I don't remember much but Ethan called me a few hours ago and let me know everything I did. I'm really sorry, I was out of line and I never meant to hurt you... Or Grayson"
