As we sit down to eat we overhear the group of boys talking about a race that happened at our sister school."Mmmm, this is so good." Allie interrupts my thoughts as she talks with her mouth full of food.
"Allie, your mouth is full I can barely understand what you are saying," I say. Allie swallows and repeats herself
"I said this is so good.".
"Oh ya but do you know what would make it even better?" I say
"What?" she questions with her mouth full once more.
"If you would talk without your mouth full," I say giggling.
"Mhm whatever I'm finished, you almost done?"
"Ya I'm done, let's go," I say, getting up from my seat and making our way to the garbage.
"Can we start the shopping now?" I say. Allie nods and we make our way to our first stop, weaving our way through crowds of people, occasionally bumping into them by accident. As we walk into the clothing store, I head for the jeans section. I start to pick out some jeans that I want to try, I grab a few different styles of them before I go to look at the tops and select a couple that will go well with my pants. I have five or so outfits so I decided to try them on. I look into the mirror in the changing room and glance over the outfit. I walk out of the changing room and ask Allie if she likes it.
"Oh my god yes, you look so good," she says as she nods in approval.
"Okay I'll go try on the others," I say. I try on the rest and I walk out of the changing room and mentally check off one of the many things on my to-do list. Allie and I check out and make our way to the next stop on our shopping adventure. We walk into the next store and see the boys from the food court in the entrance goofing around. As we pass them I give a small glance towards them, when suddenly Allie pulls my arm causing me to tumble into something.
"Are you okay?" I look up from the ground and see it's one of the boys from the group. He's quite tall, has dusted blond hair and a friendly smile.
"I'm okay," I say as he holds a hand out for me. I take his hand and he pulls me up from the ground when I hear one of his friends laugh and say
"Seriously Newt you made the girl fall?" I feel my cheeks flush when Allie chimes in and says
"Wow, Y/n falling for him already?" Newt lets out a small chuckle as he notices the pink forming on my face. I glare at Allie to shut up then turn to the group of boys and make an excuse to leave the store.
"Oh ok," Newt says, looking at me. All I do is wave and pull Allie out of the store.
"We didn't even get to look at the clothes in there," Allie says annoyed.
"It's fine we'll go back later, let's go," I say almost jogging away from the store. We spent the rest of the day looking around the mall and trying to avoid the group of boys that seemed to be trailing behind us. It's 6:30 when I finally call my mom to get us.
Allie and I walk to my mom's car with hands full of shopping bags and loud laughs.
"Mom, can Allie sleep over tonight?" I ask her once we are in the car.
"Yes, she can, just make sure it's ok with your mom first." She says more directed to Allie as we drive off.
