2 AM, 2 strangers

It was already 2 o'clock in the morning...

Wendy was looking at the empty night outside the window while singing a song her mother once sang to her.

Three days had passed since the first meeting with the strange girl. Currently, she was sitting in the room while that girl was still sleeping on the bed.

Wendy often didn't sleep much. And ever since she met this girl, she even just slept about 3 to 4 hours a day.

Her feelings had become more stable. Wendy no longer feels scared or worried as much as before, but she still felt quite restless. The strange girl has been in a coma for three days. Even though she was still alive, it didn't make Wendy feel any better.

The longer that girl was unconscious, the lower her survival chance. That weak girl could still die at any moment, and there was a high chance that the baby in her womb would die too. If that thing happened, then it means Wendy could not save anyone...

All the money she spent on treating them was just meaningless...

Wendy continued to drink the coffee to keep her heavy eyelids from falling.

These days, she already cancelled all the incoming orders and was just living around this room. Wendy had to stay near this girl because she promised to not let her die in alone. However, Wendy feared that the strange girl might die while she fell asleep for a while, which was why she had to keep herself awake constantly.

"I am looking for freedom

Looking for freedom

And to find it cost me everything I have..."

Wendy continued to sing aloud while turning her sad eyes towards the window. Memories of her past gradually drifted outside of the night like clouds in the sky...

She was recalling the days she spent with her mother, and the years she spent alone.

After thinking about her mother for a while, Wendy started to think about a little and lovely girl that she knew long ago. Memories of that girl slowly appeared in her mind, the girl who once made her heart sob. She tried to imagine their faces, how they smile, how they talk to her...

Then Wendy tried to remember herself eight years ago. But this time, even with her best efforts, Wendy couldn't imagine what she looked like back then.

Her hair has been cut short, her body has transformed, her mindset has become so different. Time changes everyone ...

All the beautiful memories of what she cared about were only faint images in her mind.

Wendy didn't even get a chance to meet the people she loves in her dreams. Everything appeared in her dream was just a vast and cold ocean.

The faces of her mother and the girl she loved gradually became vague and drifted away from her memorie, just like clouds on the dark sky.

Maybe one day Wendy will see them again ...

But now, she had to stay here because she still had unfinished promises in this place.

Wendy slowly took another sip of coffee and continued to sing ...

"Uh...." A soft groan came from the hospital bed, startling Wendy...

She immediately thought of the strange girl in a coma, and a question suddenly popped up in her mind: "Was she awake?". However, it could also be the sound of someone struggling at their death, and Wendy definitely didn't want it to happen.
