Chapter 10

The miserable butterfly

The day Saki had overdosed...

Somewhere in Japan.

There was a tall girl with long hair sitting on the couch in a living room. She sighed while five fingers were tapping on the table constantly, seemed to be worried about something...

Miko already went out to buy Taiyaki about ten minutes ago, leaving only Sindy in the living room, waiting in worry.

Today was the last day of their plan, the day Saki was saved by Wendy...

Asking a ruthless killer like Wendy to save someone? That was very unlikely to happen.

Wendy was a contract killer, someone else's life is just the profit for her. Asking that cold girl to take care of Saki was like asking a debt collector to do charity. She will simply take it as a joke and give you a few bullets in the head. 

However, if Miko and Sindy could show her what happened to Saki in the public bathhouse, perhaps that heartless girl might change her mind?

In order to let them meet, Sindy and Miko came to this city six months ago, taking a picture of Saki and finally putting it on the list of people they asked Wendy to kill. And then, just like a bloodthirsty predator, Wendy will hunt down all the people who have abused Saki, one by one ... until she meets Saki. Killing two birds with one stone, that was a meticulous plan.

To devise that perfect plan, Sindy drank countless cups of coffee and stayed up for many nights. Though she was very sure of her careful calculations, Sindy still felt worried.

No matter how perfectly constructed, every plan has the potential to fail. Even if Wendy can get Saki to the hospital in time, whether or not Saki survives the tragedy will depend on her will. And that was something Sindy cannot calculate.

During this time, Wendy will call at any time, but that call will go to Miko's phone. Sindy really wants to hear news about Saki's condition right now. But all she could do was wait for Miko to come back.

Maybe Sindy needs some music to relax her mind for a while...

She took a deep breath to calm down, then plugged her headphones into her cell phone and started listening to music. It was a song her mother taught her to play on the piano when she was little. "Paint It, Black" by Ramin Djawadi.

Slowly, the sound of the piano calmed her down...

Sindy closed her eyes. Piano keys began to appear in her mind and her fingers began to tap lightly against the tabletop. She began to think about Saki, about that poor little girl. Her face gradually appeared in Sindy's mind...

That was a nerd girl, she was young and innocent, kind and lovely.

A lonely girl who just wanted to make more friends. She wanted to leave the loneliness behind. But with just one wrong choice, her whole life went straight to hell. All the beautiful things vanished away from her sight,

Sindy kept thinking about what happened to Saki while her fingers were still tapping on the table.

"Why did such cruel things happen to her? Why was she always being abused like a dirty toy? Why didn't anyone come and help Saki? She doesn't even hurt anyone." Sindy began to gasp, while her fingers were still tapping on the table.

She couldn't believe that Saki's whole life was completely ruined in just three years. Just because that little girl wants to make friends. Just because that girl doesn't want to be alone anymore.
