Chapter 5

Evil against evil

6 months before Saki will have an overdose.

3 months and a half before Hayato got killed.

Somewhere in Japan...

There were two girls sitting side by side on the couch in a living room, one short, one tall.

Miko was the shorter girl who has short blonde hair that is hugging her face.

Even though she was twenty-two years old, she still looked like a child.

She leaned back in her chair and rested her feet on the table, revealing her pink panties. The mini skirt she wore seemed too short to cover her body with that sitting posture. Miko held a Taiyaki in one hand and a smartphone in the other. She was eating Taiyaki while watching anime on Netflix and giggled.

The taller girl who wore an overcoat and bowler hat was Sindy. She has long black hair and blue eyes. Sindy was one year older than Miko, and she was also more mature, as can be seen from the way she dresses.

Sindy didn't seem as comfortable as Miko. Of course, in her hand was a doujinshi book called "Emergence". She was reading the last chapter, and the pictures in that book made her face grimace. This was the fifth time she has read this book. She does not want to read it again at all, but she will still have to continue reading that book.

As an agent, Miko and Sindy were required to read the story many times to understand the plot clearly, so they could interrupt the story and find a way to save Saki Yoshida and her child, without destroying it.

''Uhm... hmm. This is ... a tasty cake!'' Miko broke the still atmosphere with an exclamation. She said while watching Netflix. Her cheeks puffed up with cake. "It tastes the same as the Taiyaki in our world."

"The food in here is quite similar to our world," Sindy replied while still reading the book intently, she was about to turn to the last pages of the book. "But the people ... they're much more terrible. The morality of this society has decayed so badly."

Sindy continued reading, her hands starting to shake slightly when she saw the sight of Saki being stopped by the evil teenagers. Her breathing seemed to be squeezed in her chest with pain and resentment...

Sindy closed the book and put it on the table. She finished reading it...

The story in that book was so depressing. It hits hard on her emotions, and always hurts her heart. Every time she finished reading it, she felt like she was drowned in a lonely emptiness. The image of Saki's glasses keeps appearing in her mind like a sorrowful phantom.

She slowly leaned her back against the couch, taking a deep breath to calm her mind. Then Sindy pulled out the business card from her pocket and read it.
